Kennedy's Pub & Restaurant — Restaurant in Dublin

Let's be clear: the food was good. The service however, was lacking. We were seated in front of the door (in December) so the breeze forced us to keep our coats on the whole evening. Don't get me wrong, we would've asked to change tables, but no one came to see us. For thirty minutes, not a single server approached our table or made eye contact. We were seated directly next to the servers' desk too! At some point, a man (a floor manager maybe? he wasn't wearing a uniform) asked if we wanted anything "else". "It's been 30 minutes, we're ready to order, can you take our order, please?" Food came out, it was fine. Any time we wanted something, we had to interrupt a waitress punching in an order at the desk to ask. It was always a different one. When we asked for our bill, we asked if it could be separate. She informed us she couldn't separate it, but if we did the math, we could do separate payments. That's perfect! We can do the math! A different waitress comes with the machine and when we ask to split the payment, she says that's impossible unless we want to go to the [inaudible something]. Sure, we'll do that! But she doesn't let us and presents the machine for payment. The most enjoyable part of the evening was the live music. The musicians gave a great show, people stayed in the doorway several minutes to hear just one last song before leaving....

0 stars at all. A completely disaster.

I made a booking for 17 people. This booking was made a MONTH ago. Last night I arrived and at the staff told us that we did not have a booking. That was the first lie. As I did have a booking , I secure the booking with my credit card details and I have a confirmation booking email.

Secondly, they lied again and located us at the bar with no seat and 2 tables , for 17 people!!!

Thirdly, I went and complained again to the staff as it was impossible for the group to fit all at two small tables.And again, a LIE, the waiter told me that i did not put in my booking a note of “dinner”. What?? My booking confirmation email was “dinner booking confirmed” .

After all of this, they said that it was impossible for them to put us in the restaurant because there was a private party . HAHAHA that’s why after all, in the last few minutes they decided to left us out without even calling us the day before or even hours before to tell us that our booking will be cancelled. Nope, they decided to waste our time, wait until 17 will show up there for just listening to lies and to be left out.

After all this show, I received an automatic email to give a review of my dinner with kennedys . In this email they say the care about the customers. Funny...

Went in for a quiet pint by myself while I waited for my wife in town , this place was close by looked nice. It was just me at the bar and a few groups sitting down. I ordered a pint from a pissed off looking bar man, he took the money gave the change and lied back again the counter. After a while walked to other side of the bar and a few mins passed I asked about the guinnness they said “ah yeah..” walked back towards taps got distracted by something else (on their phone it looked like ) then again leaned against counter and folded their arms..I just stood there looking at them in disbelief for another 5 mins or so and I had to say again sorry what about the pint , they finally poured it. They gave the Guinness then to me all dripping down side of the glass no pride or care in the service. It’s really disappointing as I was very patient and dont look for trouble and I thought the bar was nice inside but this turned me off going always now. Ive passed a few times since and that memory always prevents me going in didnt leave a good impression always end up going to the other...
