Gerry's Pub is an iconic treasure. With a breathtaking view on the terrace, succulent Italian cuisine and seafood, live music, superb service, and considerably fair prices, it's no wonder this place always brings in a full house. In the week we've stayed in Amalfi, we've gone at least 6 times and each time is a new experience! We would highly recommend this place to anyone! The food is wonderfully prepared, using local ingredients, and family recipes. Gerry goes far above and beyond the call of service, and making sure everyone is happy and had everything they need. Gerry is very down to earth. He makes you feel completely comfortable and is always a joy to be around. They have great pizza's & selection of beers, fine Italian cuisine and seafood, decadent tiramisu and desserts, a variety of gelatos, local Italian wines, and a large selection of great cocktails. You can relax on the terrace while listening to well picked songs of live music. Gerry's has everything and is always a fun experience! Whether you're in Amalfi for just one day or an entire week, be sure to check out this place! You'll be good you did! It's an absolute treasure hidden above Amalfi! One of things we really enjoyed about Gerry's Pub is you never feel crowded with too many people, unlike all the other restaurants down in Amalfi. Gerry's Pub allows you to really breath and relax, taking in the essence of the local environment. As an added bonus, Gerry has an in depth knowledge about local places, businesses, and experiences, so if you have questions about where to go or stay, see places, or experience, be sure...
Read moreLove this pub!!!! This is our second visit to Pogerola and of course our first stop was to see Gerry and his family. We are Irish and know a good pub when we visit one. And Gerry’s is one of the best on the planet. He is there every day and takes a genuine interest in all his guests. There is always a warm welcome as soon as you step through the door. We have eaten at Gerry’s on numerous occasions and the food is excellent. I love the seafood pasta and my hubby enjoys the pizza. The food is authentic, well presented and delicious. We have eaten breakfast each morning since arriving at Gerry’s and enjoyed the magnificent views from the patio. The coffee is exceptional and always served with a smile. The atmosphere here is exactly what you want from an authentic Italian welcome. Even other patrons are warm and welcoming of each other. We like to start and finish our days at Gerry’s. After a long day sightseeing it is so nice to return to the quiet village of Pogerola and drop in with Gerry for a cool beer and a chat about our day. Gerry has so much knowledge about the area and can help with anything we ask. We always leave each time feeling like one of the family. Congratulations Gerry you should be very proud of your business and the community of people you have brought together from across the world. See you for breakfast soon. Sandra...
Read moreI feel bad writing a review like this but am dumbfounded that I just experienced what others rated as a 4.7/5 “restaurant/pub”. My partner and I felt like we were on an episode of kitchen nightmare and it seems that this place could definitely could use Chef Ramsay’s help right now. Gerry is a nice likeable guy but the service and atmosphere are bad and the food was nothing to write home about, so overall experience isn’t something I’d rate over a 3/5.
The Italian meat and cheese plate was good. We then ordered the salsiccia and potatoes/veggies plate and tagliatelle bolognese. For 14$ Euro I got 1 sausage that wasn’t grilled, undercooked and had no flavour with undercooked potato wedges (was expecting crispy rosemary ones at very least) and boring veg. My partner’s bolognese was OK, but no one came around with cheese and the meat sauce lacked flavour. The place is dated, was a mess and poor Gerry was trying to do everything himself because the rest of the staff was lazy and looked like they didn’t want to be there. People were walking out after not getting service, staff was yelling at each other and you could feel the tension while there - truly an uncomfortable experience and I would avoid going there unless you’re just dropping in...
