Xiang show - Ristorante Cinese — Restaurant in Bologna

I was staying at the Airbnb next to the restaurant. I ordered takeaway, it took quite a long time, about 25-30 mins so I suggest to call in advance.

The fried Thai noodles (actually not thai noodles at all, just Cantonese style rice noodles 米粉）were quite disappointing, as it didn’t taste much at all, just bland like the chef forgot to add any seasoning.

The chilli oil chicken (口水雞）wasn’t great either. The chicken meat was so soft, didn’t feel fresh. And the sauce was not flavourful enough.

The chilli peppers fried pork belly was the best amongst all, it went very nicely with plain rice tho it was really spicy, not much meat but lots of peppers and onions.

Spring rolls were standard, no complaint.

We visited Bologna from Belgium. We went here because of the good ratings in Google Map, but we were disappointed by the taste. Xiang dishes are well-known for its spiciness, but it doesn’t mean you could ONLY add chilis to this bowl of noodles without adding any other seasonings. It tasted like pure chilis without the food fragrance that a dish should have, not to mention the noodles were all lumped together. You can’t even tear them apart using chopsticks. This tofu did taste much better than that noodles, and this is the only thing I could say we were satisfied. Unexpected Chinese food in Bologna. We are from Thailand and we are craving for Asian food after spending 10 days in Europe. This chinese restaurant has totally authentic taste. We love spicy and normal spicy is perfect for us. The price is affordable and the size of food is good.
