Saudade — Restaurant in Cagliari

Wow! The decor, the service, the food...all equally terrific! Our server was attentive and friendly, and the chef was accommodating and fun to talk with. You are able to customize your own sushi rolls if you ask the chef at the sushi bar, and he is more than happy to comply! He came over to speak with us afterwards, and the next day he saw us walking around Barcelona, remembered us, and went out of his way to come say hello.

The food is some of the best Japanese we've had in a long time. My wife doesn't typically order gyoza, but did so at the recommendation of our server, and said that it was the best gyoza she has had...

We stayed at the hotel and decided to try the sushi restaurant. The atmosphere is nice and the pricing is reasonable for the setting. Service was generally good, though at times it took a while to get the staff’s attention.

The sushi and sashimi were fresh, but the sashimi slices were thinner and smaller than expected. Sushi rolls came with four pieces per order, which may not suit everyone looking for larger portions.

Overall, it’s a decent option if you’re staying at the hotel or nearby, but portions may feel small for the price.

C'è molto da migliorare un po' su tutti i fronti. Le potenzialità infatti ci sono, dal posizionamento del locale (contesto di alto livello a Cagliari) alla cura degli interni, passando per un' atmosfera tutto sommato piacevole e rilassante. E salverei anche un servizio al tavolo che, seppur nella sua timidezza, ci ha trasmesso gentilezza e trasparenza. I punti dolenti li abbiamo trovati soprattutto sulla preparazione di alcune pietanze di sushi e nella composizione del menu. Per servire un ottimo sashimi di salmone, ad esempio, non serve molto ma quel poco va fatto a regola d'arte. Basta un salmone ben selezionato all'acquisto e poi uno chef che sappia tagliarlo come si deve, tutto qui. Invece ho trovato una pomposa presentazione con tanto di cubetti di ghiaccio per qualche fettina mal tagliata di un salmone qualsiasi...I rolls li ho trovati troppo pasticciati ma sono consapevole che a molti piacciono così. A me sarebbe piaciuto avere un'alternativa classica e semplice, meno ingredienti e maggior qualità insomma. Bene la tempura ma, anche qui, niente di eccezionale. Buona carta dei vini, il Gewürztraminer però non può mancare soprattutto se presente con due etichette in lista. Il conto è giusto se commisurato al contesto ma caro rispetto a quanto realmente servito. Non mi riferisco alla quantità ma alla qualità dei prodotti e della loro "lavorazione"....
