Bar Funicolare — Restaurant in Capri

This is a beautiful and perfect location to have lunch. We visited in third week of August/23 and it was HOT. Immediately at the exit of the Funicolare (funicular tram) the views of the Marina Grande and the surrounding sea and mountains and town are amazing. We had a couple of sandwiches (panini) and a couple of beers for a reasonable price considering this is one of the most touristic and expensive areas of Italy. The sandwiches were fantastic, we had to share both of them to get a full appreciation without eating too much. The beer was the usual Peroni, which is always great as a refresher without getting choosy. The service was pretty good, fairly quick, and as it was quite busy they didn't waste any time on chit-chat, but no less very courteous and friendly. We would have stayed all day just to enjoy the breeze and the sun, conversation with the locals and other tourists (people are so happy and warm while on vacation in an idyllic place LOL), and just relax in the being there. Il servizio al Bar Funicolare è sempre impeccabile e con il sorriso. Il personale è amichevole e pronto a rispondere alle richieste, creando un'atmosfera informale e familiare che ti fa sentire subito a casa. È un bar dove la cordialità del team rende l'esperienza ancora più piacevole, facendoti sentire davvero benvenuto. La qualità dei prodotti offerti è eccellente. Il caffè è uno dei punti forti, forte e aromatico come si deve, ma il bar offre anche una selezione di aperitivi, cocktail e frullati freschi che sono perfetti per rinfrescarsi durante una calda giornata estiva. Non mancano poi piccoli snack e stuzzichini che accompagnano perfettamente un aperitivo in relax. I dolci, freschi e preparati con cura, sono una delizia per chi ama concludere il proprio break con un tocco dolce. Il Bar Funicolare è il posto ideale per una pausa a Capri, che si tratti di un caffè veloce al mattino, un aperitivo pomeridiano o un momento di relax durante la giornata. When first arriving in Capri we had a 30-minute wait before our first meeting and decided to try this place out for a drink and the view. I can’t comment on the food but the service was fast and friendly when we were there, and the first five songs were some smooth jazz / pop rock classics (Rolling Stones, Sade, etc). The cocktails were in the €12-€20 range, my gin fizz had a decent amount of gin, and honestly given the view as a first drink in the city it’s worth it.
