Sei anni fa scrivevo essere il migliore gelato di sempre. 5 stelle avevo dato. Oggi purtroppo devo cambiare la mia recensione…. L’ultima volta che sono stata a quello di Como, ho preso i miei soliti gusti, e l’ho trovato super zuccherato e stucchevole. Pareva che avessero aggiunto zucchero e latte, come le gelaterie “base”. Di solito finito uno, ne prendevo sempre un altro, invece stavolta dopo il primo avevo solo voglia di bere acqua. Ma… altro GROSSO PROBLEMA…. il prezzo!!!! 💰💰💰💰💰💰 Il prezzo è aumentato in maniera folle, una gelato da DUE GUSTI senza possibilità di prenderne tre, costa 4,5€ o 5€ adesso non ricordo di preciso, e arriva ai 6€ per tre gusti. Prima addirittura usavano l’attrezzo per fare le palline, quindi la quantità era ridicola. Ora pare abbiano smesso, ma restano comunque più piccoli di una volta, e il prezzo non è rapportato alla quantità, troppo misera (vedo non essere l’unico a commentare in questo modo, anche per questo punto). Quindi pare: PREZZO AUMENTATO, QUALITÀ SCESA (forse riproveró x capire se è stato un errore di quel giorno…), QUANTITÀ DIMINUITA. Capirei (ma anche no…) se il prezzo fosse solo per il negozio per i turisti in centro (a parte che far pagare di più per i turisti è una pratica becera in generale…e a parte che in centro vanno anche comaschi…), ma lo stesso prezzo trovarlo a Lora, è assurdo. Si vede che il figlio del vecchio proprietario, e i nipoti, hanno solo una passione: I SOLDI. Prima di tutto, come sempre. Il nonno, uomo che mi è sempre piaciuto e che mi ha sempre suscitato simpatia, faceva un gelato per tutti, com’è giusto che sia. Ci ha regalato migliaia di momenti goduriosi per tantissimi anni, quando si prendevano sempre almeno due gelati a testa, senza avere il peso che ha oggi: un investimento piú che un dolce gelato che tira sú il morale. Peccato vedere che come sempre gli eredi arricchiti e che si vogliono arricchire con la pappa già pronta, stanno rovinando tutto. Ho anche saputo, origliando ad una conversazione per caso, che non fanno mangiare nemmeno un gelato al giorno ai dipendenti, che devono pagarselo sempre. Un gelato costa poco e nulla, a voi, darne uno al giorno ai dipendenti mi parrebbe il minimo. E invece… Che livello di taccagnería e che poca umamità, ancora una volta….

Vedo che altre persone si stanno già lamentando per le stesse cose per fortuna. Chi troppo vuole nulla stringe. Puó funzionare per un po’, ma perdere clienti affezionati da una vita (e penso che io e la mia famiglia non siamo gli unici…) non è mai buono per un business. Io non sto più consigliando di andare da voi, come invece ho sempre fatto prima, ed io stess, famiglia e amici, non veniamo più. Prima era tappa fissa ogni volta che ci si passava…! E portavamo vaschette ad ogni cena. Un vero peccato. Meglio quando c’era la vecchia gestione, senza...

Best gelato!! The owners of this shop truly show they care. They were saying the ingredients are all hand selected and the gelato is still made the original way. Most other gelato places buy pre-made mix but they do not. When it comes to any of their flavors they hand sleeve the fruits that are in season and press them for the juice or any nut flavors, they partner with local farmers and select the crop of nuts to use and make their own paste. Most other places buy a pre-made nut paste. Truly this is the best gelato I’ve had in Italy. The pistachio and hazelnut was incredible, not too sweet but full of flavor. The straciatella was incredible (they made their own dark chocolate bark that they fold in). My husband had the strawberry, coconut, and mango and was blown away by how fresh everything tasted....

This is quite literally the best ice cream I've ever had, and the lady serving is as sweet as the stuff she sells. Even the cones are special. What is normally a piece of cheap, soggy cardboard is instead part of the actual dessert, it's a thick, crunchy waffle with a delicate sweetness. The portion sizes are more than generous, and I had to make a return trip a few days later. Don't fall for a tourist trap or some other place that sells a range of cheaply made ice cream with colours that belong in a firework show. I guarantee that the novel and fresh flavours, along with the reliable, classic ones, will blow the giant 'authentic' places on the main streets out of the water. You're in Italy, the home of ice cream. Go to a place worthy...
