Gelateria Guidi — Restaurant in Como

They do have a good variety of flavours and other gourmet popsicles in the menu. We went there on a Sunday, during the month of March. The store was quite busy for a cold day, but staff were always friendly and serving clients with a smile on their face, so I recognize and applaud that. However, I ordered a crepe and they gave me on a triangular sturdy paper and it was almost impossible to eat it without having to touch it with my own hands. There was no place inside to eat too, so I got completely messy also due to the powdered sugar they sprinkled on top of it. The taste was good but nothing extraordinary. What I hope to achieve with my review is to leave a suggestion for the owners to rethink the way that they are serving such a popular desert...

A group of us did a food tour in downtown Como. The guide took us by this place as the one of the stops on our tour. This was a welcome delight given no one in our party has tried a Gelato before.

The staff at Gelateria Guidi took really good care of us. We had a mixture of orders that the staff did a fantastic job taking the orders and preparing them for our group of 10. We each were allotted 2 scoops in a cone of our choosing or a cup. I opted for the cup and small spoon to reduce my chance of a mess. I choose the Caffe and Raspberry flavors.

There are no places to sit outside, but there is a small area to sit inside, if desired.

This place has the best ice cream I have ever had in my life without exaggeration. But the staff? They will give attitude like never seen before. To be fair not all of them but there is one specific woman who works there I’ve seen others comment about her. Every time I go up to order she’s always rolling her eyes when I take more than a second to decide. Like I understand the need for efficient ordering as there is normally a queue but that is not an excuse to behave like that.
