KOMO Fusionable Taste — Restaurant in Como

If I could give this restaurant 10 stars, I would. We have eaten in some of the best restaurants in Switzerland, UK, France and this was by far the next level of excellence for Customer Service, ambience and quality of the food. We were warmly welcomed by Ricardo who ensured we had a great table and assured us we would be supported well throughout the evening. Patrick our server, looked after us extremely well throughout the evening, explaining items on the menu, making recommendations and generally ensuring we wanted for nothing. We opted for the tasting menu, 5 courses per person having heard Patrick's description of each and accompanied this with a beautiful crisp clear Tuscan 2022 Formentina white wine. Each course was brought to our table without any lengthy delays and again introduced by Patrick. Every dish was presented in a bowl or on a plate that showed it to perfection, like a work of art. The chef who designed this menu has considerable experience and it showed in the ingredients he combined and the incredible flavours produced. Every one of the 5 dishes were superb. We don't normally have a dessert, however, we wanted to see if the quality of their food extended into the dessert and were not disappointed with probably thr best tiramasu you'll ever taste. Como has 100s of restaurants where you'll get the standard Italian fare, however, if you leave Como without dining at Komo you have missed the culinary opportunity of a lifetime. Giving Komo, a Japanese Fusion restaurant, a complete 5star for the excellence of their service and selection of fresh ingredients.

Starting off at my arrival, I was greeted with a smile by the server and allocated me a seat near the patio heater after confirming that I am good with Japanese Fusion cuisine.

Not really knowing what to order, I decided to try 1 of the "Menu Degustazione" (aka tasting menu). I chose the degustazione with 5 servings. Posted below and in order of the arrival, are what I had consumed and enjoyed.

Everything was so good but my favourites were the sake and avocado (1st photo) which looked so simple, but contains so much overflowing flavours that I couldn't stop complimenting it.

Then there were the 3 different dumplings which took me by surprise. They were so juicy that I didn't even had the need to dip them in the soy sauce. My personal favorites were the Cha-Shu and Ebi, which contains a red shrimp on top. I don't usually eat red shrimp, but what they served me was so fresh that i didn't taste or smell the usually strong fishy scent that it contains.

They served me the last dish of the menu. Duck breast cooked in low heat paired with sweet berry tasting sauce. This dish is a MUST to order.

As a dumpling lover, I also ordered WAGYU DUMPLINGS! (6th photo) It was so good that I could order another plate, guilt free of anything. This is something I would order when I go back to dine again.

For the experience and taste, everything was worth the price. So I highly recommend it to everyone...

In conclusion, Komo offers a delightful dining experience with its fresh and creative approach to sushi. While some dishes may have been a bit saucier than I prefer, the overall quality of the food, excellent service, and inviting ambience make it a standout choice for a sushi meal in Como.
