Was starving (after a day of travel) when I walked by this little shop. Window caught my eye so I went in. All the choices looked great. Decided to give it a try after a quick check of google reviews (i would have walked right out if they weren’t good) - I’m happy I stayed. Service was fast and people were kind (took me a minute to make a decision!). Sandwich was fresh and delicious. Obviously, there are many really great sandwich shops to choose from in Florence, but if you are in this little shopping/tourist area, want to ‘grab and go’ with no line, you won’t be disappointed.

Updating review: We have stopped by Carpe Diem 3 days in a row! And, probably back again tomorrow and so on. The people are friendly and the food has been wonderful (we’ve tried a variety) - it’s the ‘go-to’ for a quick family snack. The favorite has been the meat or veggie ‘rolls’ in the front window. €8 each. Suggest getting them warmed up. Easily shareable. Perfect hold-over snack to get you to the next sit-down...

I read about some of the big, really popular and highly rated sandwich shops in firenze. I asked or your guide about some of the places. She said they are good but that she knows a place that is much less for the same quality. That place is Carpe Diem.

They make their own bread. The foccachia has the crispiest outside and is soft and squishy. And it's salty - not too salty but just right.

We had the Paradiso (mortadella), Medici (porchetta), turkey, and salami. All were so delicious. The mortadella was my favorite followed by the porchetta.

The sandwiches are simple and delicious.

The people at the counter were very cool and patient.
