Fiorino D'Oro — Restaurant in Florence

I am very disappointed as we searched out this place on purpose due to reviews and walked at least 30mins to get here just to be treated so terribly (i did not have the staff name but i hope the person in charge can contact me and clarify as i do not want to put the blame on the other staff that were not involved). We ordered drinks and tiramisu for a start. The person who brought the drinks dropped the glass right in the middle and it smashed all over the floor even went into our shoes and im not sure if there were any in our water but he just gave me a tissue and walked away. My husband was very kind to him and asked if he could help us to clean but he just told my husband nehhhh and smiled. We were so surprised by his response we were so unhappy. My husband waited for the staff to come over again and he asked for help but the staff said “no, i would rather move you” so my husband said ok. The staff walked away and did not attend to us at all. I had enough and called the starf over and asked what should we do? Should we wait for cleaning or is someone going to tell us which table that we could sit ? As we respect the rules of restaurant by not changing tables as we like. The staff rudely responded: i told you to move as im not going to clean it, there are not many table who can sit 3 people you can see for yourself. I am so angry that he didnt even apologise but also had a smirk on his face. What a terrible experience to have. I did not have evidence i only had one photo of the glass on the floor. We totally lost our appetite and mood . Which is terrible to have travelled so far and be treated like this in a city area where tourist and customers...

The salmon with veggies was nice so we're happy there, but that's where the fun stops. First of all the wait staff are pathetic, the guy with the silver necklace and bracelets just messed around, sings to his colleagues while they're trying to take the customers order, he dances around, does one thing at a time and takes the piss out of his job. The others pay no attention and are just walking around looking busy. My partners food didn't sit right with her so she spent 15 minutes in the bathroom, during this time I'm sitting at waiting for the bill and still nothing, so when she decided to leave and go back to the hotel I went inside to pay only to be meeting the owner or manager. He didn't care, he didn't want to look after me, his body language was pathetic and told me to go back to my table and the waiter will come (heard that three times). Now telling the second person that the food didn't sit right can we have it off the bill I was told no cos we took a bite out of it and they would have to throw it out, it was also blamed on my partner for being sick before we got here. Being in hospitality ourselves this has been horrible service, sure it's a possibility a customer can be sick before they arrive, but don't you want your customers to leave happy or try attend to their needs? Maybe it's different back home, but I thought it meant the same thing. You can always tell how good a restaurant is by how they try to fix problems. I don't recommend this...

the worst customer service ever. Never go to this place. the waiters ganged up on us. I never experienced anything like this before. This place is not recommended at all. Its a tourist trap. It kind of ruined our beautiful day in Florence. Go to Cafe Gilli instead ...

and in reply to the management's reply. We were never rude and your staff did not stop serving us. We respect everyone and never in our lives disrespected anyone. What happened is one of the waiters asked my mother to move disrespectfully when she told him that she was comfortable that way and the restaurant was almost empty and no one was behind her, she was not bothering anyone, he went on slamming the table behinds us. We did not appreciate this behavior and told them that we will be leaving. Went on to pay our bill for food we ordered seconds ago and asked them to cancel but they refused to cancel, and we paid anyways and we were never disrespectful. They were all ganging on us and it was scary. Never in my life experienced this. and btw the kitchen and bathroom were disgusting showing bad management. I recommend if you want to give your staff some rights is first give them the right to be trained well and know how to treat customers . Train your staff well and have a little customer service and give people good experience. You give Florence a bad reputation.
