Maccheroni Broz — Restaurant in Florence

I've been following the page on Instagram for a while now and I was quite curious to come here to eat. I ordered the carbonara (11€) and the place was empty and it only took 5 minutes for my food to be ready. At first glance I noticed that they only added guanciale as a topping and a small amount of it compared to the one you see in the photos, the bowls were not the same and the tray on which they delivered my pasta was noticeably dirty. (I would advise them to add a food grade paper on top of the tray to make it at least a little more hygienic). As for the taste of the pasta? It was tasteless, it had a good amount of sauce but I would even say that it had a lot of it, it can be cloying, I expected more from this place given the great publicity they do on their networks, the price is perhaps a little high for a plate of pasta served in a cardboard container. This place is tiny, but packed with flavor and charm. The pasta is handmade and cooked fresh to order—it doesn’t get more authentic than that. I loved that they serve everything in cardboard bowls, which feels way more thoughtful and eco-friendly than plastic.

The flavors were incredible, and you can really taste the quality in every bite. They also offer tiramisu to go, along with a great selection of cheeses and fresh pasta you can take home to cook yourself.

We stopped here while in Florence and were blown away by both the food and the service. Every dish tasted incredibly fresh and full of flavor — you can really tell they use quality ingredients and take pride in what they serve. The pasta was perfectly cooked, rich, and authentic, easily some of the best we had in Italy.
