Our group of friends visited Florence for the day on holiday and decided to dine at Maddina Florence Tandoori Halal Restaurant. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by the staff, who were both accommodating and attentive throughout the meal. The food was exceptional — flavorful, well-prepared, and reflective of the rich Pakistani culinary tradition. The hospitality shown during our visit gave us a sense of comfort and made the experience feel almost like a family gathering.

However, the positive impression quickly turned sour when it came time to settle the bill. To our shock, we were presented with a total of €229, an amount that felt disproportionately high for five people — especially when compared to similar meals we've enjoyed in the UK or elsewhere, which would typically come to around to half this price.

Upon closer inspection, we discovered that we had been charged for several dishes we never ordered. We had assumed these items were complimentary, offered as part of the renowned generosity often associated with Pakistani hospitality. Unfortunately, this was not the case. What we believed to be tokens of goodwill were, in fact, opportunistic upsells masked by a friendly demeanor.

The pricing of many dishes was also unreasonably inflated, bordering on extortionate. It felt as though we had been taken advantage of under the guise of warmth and care, leaving us with a strong sense of being manipulated and overcharged.

To add insult to injury, what we assume was the owner had the audacity to personally request that each of us leave a 5-star review — despite our clear discomfort and disillusionment with how we were treated.

This experience has left us disappointed and wary. While the food and initial service were commendable, the lack of transparency and ethical customer treatment overshadowed everything. I hope this review helps others make an...

Maddina Florence Tandoori Restaurant offers an exceptional culinary journey through the flavors of Pakistan, right in the heart of Italy. As a connoisseur of Pakistani cuisine, my experience at Maddina was nothing short of remarkable.

From the moment I entered, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality, setting the tone for what was to come. The aroma of spices filled the air, promising an authentic culinary adventure. The menu boasted a wide array of halal delights, each dish meticulously prepared to perfection.

I indulged in their signature tandoori specialties, including succulent kebabs and tender naan bread straight from the clay oven. The flavors danced on my palate, transporting me to the bustling streets of Lahore. Each bite was a symphony of spices, showcasing the rich heritage of Pakistani cuisine.

What truly sets Maddina apart is their impeccable customer service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience, attentively catering to every need with a genuine smile.

Based on my experience, this restaurant is worthless. It is nowhere near to a genuine Indian restaurant as they claim to be. Since this was our first time here, we sought the waiter's advice and ordered dal makhani, mixed vegetables' curry, lachcha parantha and sweet lassi. The dal makhani and mixed vegetables' curry tasted rotten, the lachcha parantha was like a thick pizza base with oil applied on top and the lassi was like sweetened water, flavored with a little bit of curd! The waiter also suggested to go with samosa as a starter, mentioning that it is really good. Even the samosa tasted rotten! It seems they prepare these items once in a while (maybe once every 3 days or so) and just heat those before serving to the customers. The waiter was pretty rude and clumsy. We had to remind multiple times for the bill and eventually he prepared an incorrect bill. All this added to the bad experience. The overall price was EUR 49,50 for 2 persons which is super expensive for such a rotten experience. There is nothing in our whole experience to write a positive comment about. Not...

I’m usually cautious about highly-rated restaurants when travelling, as they can often be underwhelming—but Maddina Florence Tandoori Restaurant exceeded all expectations! From the moment I walked in, the staff were warm and welcoming, and their recommendations were absolutely spot on. Finding quality halal food can be difficult in some areas, so I was really pleased to discover this gem. The menu offers a unique combination of Italian and Indian dishes, and I tried a bit of both—each one was top tier. For my main, I had the alla Fiorentina steak, a local delicacy that didn’t disappoint. Dessert was a classic tiramisu, and it hit the spot perfectly. The restaurant also kindly served me a cheese naan with aloo gobi. Normally, I avoid this curry because of the chunky cauliflower, but I was pleasantly surprised—the cauliflower was finely chopped, and the dish was genuinely enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Florence looking for great halal options and a memorable dining experience.

The food was not upto the expectations for the cost involved! We ordered Dal Tadka, Chicken Masala and Lasagna. The dal was uncooked without any gravy like consistency. The chicken was without any gravy that can be consumed with Naan. The Lasagna was burnt on the edges. We had taken this away to feed our toddler and this cost us around 41 euros which seemed too much for the quality of food provided. We understand Lasagna might not be the cuisine of choice here but the desi items did not do justice for the price. Plain jeera rice cost us 6.5 euros! Next day we explored New Delhi Roticceria restaurant and we got what we wanted for half the price and with appropriate taste! So if the below pictures excite your taste palate then this might be the place for You otherwise there are better options out there.
