Palazzo Tempi Ristorante Pizzeria — Restaurant in Florence

This place is an absolute tourist trap. Do not get caught. The food is nothing special, clearly over priced, and comes out slowly. We got the fried cheese balls and they were gummy like an old string cheese. The sun dried tomatoes were extremely acidic.

At first, the waiter was extremely nice so we felt fine. We ordered a bottle of prosecco (which was lovely), and that's where our problems began. Our food came before our bottle of wine did, and we had to remind the waiter that we had ordered it before it came. When we asked for an ice bucket to keep the wine chilled, we were met with attitude. The rest of the meal, we were left alone, which was fine.

We flagged down a waiter to get our check, and she disappeared for 15 minutes. When she came back out, she served a few other customers and had clearly forgotten about us. She went back in and never returned. We asked another waiter about our check, who also disappeared. Finally a third waiter came and saw me holding my credit card. He came with a receipt for our bill and then left again for several minutes to get the credit card machine.

All in all, the cover is 3 euro (pricey) the food is overpriced and not tasty, the service takes forever, and we regret coming here. I don't really have high expectations, and I understand that American service culture is different from Italian service culture, but this place is a waste of your time and money...

Food was fine, especially if you are hungry after a whole day of walking however the differential treatment for tourists vs. local was wild given the fact that the restaurant is right in the middle of a high tourist area. When I approached the host she assumed I didn't speak Italian and continued replying in English even though I replied in Italian. She tried to sit me outside and I insisted I wanted a table inside because it was about to rain. Inside, it was all locals and the waiters were all over them, giving suggestions on what to eat and asking multiple times how things were. CROOKS!!! NEVER SIT THERE!!! They steal money from tourists not only by charging additional 3€ PER PERSON for no reason, but they also have different menus in english with lower prices and in the end they charge you more!!! We ordered 3 dishes, one of which was 10 € in the menu, but in the end was charged 14€!!! We mentioned it, he admitted that it was overcharged, but only 2€, because in the italian menu it is 12€! We told him that we were given these menus, so it's not our problem if they are wrong, but he insisted, saying "is it such a problem for two euros??", instead of apologizing for their mistake, and he returned us the change, keeping the 2€ for him.
