Bar Dolly — Restaurant in Milan

I'm struggling to find anything good to say about Bar Dolly. It is comparatively cheap and it has a bit of an off the beaten track location away from the crowds but that's it . We didn't think we'd manage to find a bad meal after two weeks in Italy but this place managed to pull it off on our last night. The food is out of the microwave, I'm sure you can find as good in the nearby shop and my wife's pasta was cold before it was half finished. We were still hungry afterwards so we went to a nice nearby pub for chips . The staff were not really interested, the music wasn't great, the prosecco was better in the pub and there was more of it. Give this place a wide berth, pay the money for someplace else or there's a McDonald's near...

Sometimes I only wish I had read the reviews online before walking into a restaurant to eat.

This is one such occasion. For whilst the service by the Philippino waiter was first class, the glass of Calice Vino Bianco excellent, the Tagliatelle Funghi Porcini was just disgusting.

The noodles had been fried in oil and it tasted truly awful.

The waiter was the first to apologize to me without me saying a single word about it. But when it came to paying the bill, the lady behind the bar simply stated that she apologized but that she did not work in the kitchen.

No offer to replace or deduct the dish from the bill.

So my advice is do not give your hard earned money to this restaurant for food...

Recentemente ho visitato il bar "Al Gatto Nero" a Milano e purtroppo la mia esperienza è stata molto deludente. La musica all'esterno attirava le persone, oltretutto a volume troppo alto, ma una volta entrati, ci siamo resi conto che tutto il resto era ben lontano dalle aspettative.

Il locale era sporco e arredato con un gusto discutibile, il che non invoglia affatto a rimanere. Gli aperitivi erano serviti in modo scadente, senza alcun tocco di classe, e sembravano privi di qualsiasi attenzione ai dettagli. È incredibile pensare che in Italia, famosa in tutto il mondo per i suoi aperitivi generosi e ben presentati, ci si possa trovare di fronte a un servizio così scarso. Se non avessimo chiesto delle patatine, non ci sarebbe stato offerto nulla, il che è davvero inaccettabile.

Inoltre, il personale era poco professionale e poco cordiale, rendendo l'atmosfera ancora più sgradevole. In sintesi, consiglio di evitare questo posto. Ci sono tanti altri bar a Milano che offrono un’esperienza decisamente migliore e che rispettano la tradizione italiana degli aperitivi.

Spero che questa recensione possa servire ad altri per fare una scelta...
