My experience has gotta be the most unluckiest one, both to me and to them because I am going to put it all out there in this review. Read on... First of all, very poor hygiene: there were at least 2 house flies near where we sat and some smaller fruit flies flying around the decor they put: jars of honey or pesto (watch the video). The guy who works there as a receptionist had cut my call on my face saying there was no availability, while I was trying to explain that the reason for the call was something else—about the possibility of getting a cake from outside; and that I had already made a booking. But this dude, who had the patience levels of the size of a fruit fly, had hung up the call on my face while I was talking. Unbelievable. Lastly, when I arrived, I was served a plate that had dried rice stuck onto it, I gave it back, and the waiter—who was very friendly—apologized and got me another one. The stars really aligned on that day for me to have this unpleasant experience, in a restaurant that's otherwise pretty...
Read moreOverall bad experience, both for food and service. Some of the main dishes were reheated before served, resulting in a very hot plate with a cold meal inside. The menu looks great but almost everything had a bare taste of somewhat, the only exception is the dessert, cannoli were great and also the pasticcio, however portions were too little for 7 euro each. The service was the worst thing. They brought us the bill without us asking for it, while we were still eating the desserts, telling they were closing. They even didn’t ask us if we would like a coffee or an after dinner before leaving. When we asked them those, they told us the choice was between 2 types of amaro, but while we were paying at the cashier, we saw more typologies of bottles behind the counter. We pointed out to the staff both this and the dishes that arrived cold. They never said sorry for nothing of that and when asked if they would like to make us a little discount we were told that the place was not theirs and they could not do as...
Read moreGreat service, really great. The food however, leaves a lot to be desired. There seems to be no art or skill around it. The first beers tasted sour, like the lines hadn't been cleaned. The caponata was ok, a bit oily. The panelle were very bland with a paste like consistency served on a bed of wilted rocket. The Pasta alla Norma was on the firm side of al dente and over flavoured. No delicacy or nuance and way too big a portion for a first course. The Ragu Di Cernia was another very large portion that my husband ate a quarter of and called it cloying. By this time I was ready to leave but we had already ordered the secondo, my burrata was mediocre on a bed of tasteless tomatoes cold from the fridge with yesterday's rocket. My husband's swordfish was overcooked and chewy swimming in a tomatoes broth that could have been tinned tomatoes with added salt. Luckily that choice meal cost us €90. Overpriced and...
