I am extremely dissatisfied with the treatment my husband and I received at this restaurant. We decided to visit this restaurant one evening for dessert and a nightcap. Once the waiter found out that we did not plan to have dinner he was extremely rude to us. Let me say we ordered a dessert each, as well as a glass of dessert wine each. Additionally the restaurant was not even half full, nor was it close to closing time. (As for what we ordered: the tirmasu and dessert wine were ok, but the Sicilian cassata was not good at all) We proceeded to receive dirty looks from not only our waiter, but the rest of the staff the entire 30 minutes we were there. As the waiter did not return to check on us so we could request our check and we felt extremely uncomfortable, we went to the cash register to pay. After waiting 5 minutes (with one of the staff starting blankly at us when we asked in Italian if we could pay) our waiter came and we paid the 32€ for our bill. Even while paying the waiter was extremely short and rude with us, and couldn't even have the courtesy to hand my husband his change, but instead tossed it on the counter. Due to this experience, we certainly will not...
Read moreUpon entering, we were rudely greeted at the front door. I told them I had a reservation for 4 people tonight and they escorted us to a back table where they had to combine two smaller tables. All the other tables were set up already but it seemed like ours was just abruptly put together. I asked for a high chair for my daughter and they said they didn’t have one. We ordered four dishes and a bottle of wine. The food was mediocre at best. The pasta was extremely salty. The mixed raw fish platter was not fresh at all and on our way out, we saw the fish in tin foil boats on a counter by the door. We weren’t even given proper cutlery for our meal. We had butter knives at the table even though no butter was served and they didn’t offer us proper knives when our food came out. We chose to have dinner at this restaurant because it’s Michelin recommended but I left so...
Read moreA quietly old-school place that still delivers excellent fish Yes, Risacca Blu feels a bit stuck in the 1990s with its table settings, the way plates are cleared after orders, and the overall atmosphere. But the food is impeccable, straightforward, and good. We started with raw gamberoni and scampi – flawless, fresh, and of excellent quality. For the main course, we had the branzino in a salt crust. Again, the product quality was very high, cooked perfectly in a classic style, moist, and expertly filleted at the table. The crème brûlée for dessert was unfortunately poorly executed, with a custard-like consistency rather than the classic creamy texture. In summary, anyone looking for top-quality fish prepared in a classic, simple manner will leave happy, as long as they can overlook minor service quirks and the dessert shortcomings. I will...
