Good food but bad service I wanted to find a place that’s nice and tasty for my husband’s birthday, after research booked via Fork. During the reservation I inquired about whether they can help me arrange a cake with candle and they responded very quickly, so I thought it was going to be great. However, the night of the dinner, service was really poor, the waitress had emotionless expression the whole time, the waiter doesn’t even bother to provide the wine list or ask whether we want Prosecco or anything. The worst part is after our main course we sat there for almost 15 mins and thinking they will bring the small dessert with candle I asked, but the waitress just coldly said they didn’t have anything if I want anything I need to order…I would happily to pay anything it was my husband’s birthday! After multiple back and forth, they brought out a small ice cream with candle, and again, no one was smiling even said any nice words. The worst part is when we asked for the bill, they said they need to add €6 to our bill because we need to pay for the dessert( but it was already on the bill)… very disappointed about the service. At least, the food was tasty with fresh...

I am the last person to not want to pay for quality but this was the most basic dinner I have had in all of Italy for a long time (and I have lived in Italy for 2 years). The aubergine antipasto was already nothing to write home about, but it was "topped" by the seafood pasta which was so bland, it was really a wonder to me how someone could create this pasta and think "yes, this is a wonderful pasta". 22 euros!!! First time in my life as far as I remember when I left half of a seafood pasta uneaten.
Even though the location is beautiful and the service OK, I can't give more than 2 stars for a food experience which for me is absolutely not adequate for the prices, especially in comparison to other restaurants in Palermo that have a similar concept. I know, the restaurant will probably reply that they only use the best ingredients and what not but I am sorry, so do many other restaurants and they still serve more interesting creations. Very sad, because I had great expectations for...
Read moreVisited Sobremessa at 8pm on a Saturday night. The place was empty when I arrived so I was quickly seated. Browsing the menu I decided to order the raw seafood appetizers and another appetizer, the tasting of Sicilian streetfoods accompanied by some wine. The seafood was ok. I love raw shrimps and these were good but unfortunately not the best I have tasted. As for the streetfood, these were also not the best. My favorite of everything I ate was the panelle with fennel seed. Greasy but tasty. The wine was good, a nerello mascalese vinified in white from Etna. Service was a bit slow and slightly confused, staff asked me several times if I was done with my plate and though I answered yes, they never picked up my plate. They never came by to ask if I needed more wine or a dessert. I constantly had to be on the lookout to flag them and that was disappointing. May be it's because I had rather high expectations based on the ratings but I was quite disappointed. And I suggest you pass your way if you come...
