Avoid this tourist trap! I don’t know how they have a tripadvisor travelers choice, it’s a horrible restaurant. I’ll organize this review in 3 categories: food, service and atmosphere.
Food: all the food we ordered were overpriced. The hamburger was cold, the fries were soggy and undercooked, the caponata came without bread and when we ordered the bread aside, they gave us cold, hardened, old bread. Furthermore, the fried seafood was disproportionately small, not fresh, and fried in burnt stinky oil. The salad came in a watery bowl with a microscopic amount of dressing (a pinch of honey) . What a shame for 14€!
Service: With only two waitresses serving the whole restaurant, you cannot expect anything but a horrible service. Everyone’s plates arrived expect mine, I waited 30 minutes and then the waiters told me the plate needs additional 10 minutes. I had to cancel it and i remained the only one without eating.
Atmosphere: The velvet couches are extremely inappropriate for the hot weather, we felt like inside a sauna. There was no air conditioning. The bathrooms were dirty and had no paper whatsoever.
We would fully recommend any other restaurant in Palermo, since the restaurant doesn’t meet a Minimum experience as a...
Read more€5 too expensive, and that is way too much… Let me explain. The food was very close to being good; we had the sardines, bucatini and a prawn pasta special for the day. It wasn’t bad, but extremely underwhelming, so close to being good that it was painful, perhaps it was just a few grains of salt away from actually having any taste, but as it stood, I kept trying to include a raisin in every bite so that their sweetness would give the dish the semblance of seasoning (and I hate raisins). Being almost good, even great as the food was clearly fresh and made with quality ingredients, is, alas, not good. And this would have been fine, to come close but not quite reach the heavens, if the glass of Prosecco my girlfriend ordered wouldn’t have been €10, as we found out when we got the bill. €5 less a for that glass and we maybe wouldn’t have felt so cheated, that we had fallen in yet another tourist trap, that we are not as cool as we thought when we were walking down the Palermo streets. The almost dinner that could have been and...
Read moreWe were the only guests in the restaurant, yet somehow still managed to feel unwelcome. The waitress was curt and inflexible, refusing to let us choose our seats—even though the place was empty. The table we were assigned wobbled like a seesaw, and the music blaring in the background was loud, poorly chosen, and full of awkward English lyrics that made conversation nearly impossible.
The food? Technically tasty, but portions were minuscule and prices unjustifiably high. To make matters worse, one dish arrived with raw prawns, nowhere mentioned on the menu. That’s not just misleading, it’s a health risk.
If you sit outside, be prepared to dine next to a noisy street with constant traffic. Overall, the experience felt more like a punishment than a pleasure. Good ingredients wasted on bad service and...
