We enjoyed our two nights at Affittacamere Cinque Terre Coast to Coast in the Ponente Room. However, there were a couple of negative items, and we feel the need to deduct from the total “score.” The positives are: a nice location with great views; a clean, modern apartment with a comfortable bed; nice bathroom with good shower; and very nice host, Aurelie. The negatives are: no provided Kleenex or tissues in the room, which is standard in every other place we stayed. We asked and were told they don’t provide tissues. The kitchen is “locked-down” at night, so we didn’t have access to filtered water, glassware, or utensils for eating takeout food. Fortunately, we were told this in advance, so we asked for wine glasses ahead of time. But we are deducting at least a half-star for the negative items. ||When we got into Riomaggiore, we were able to park at the Rio Park, which is only a 5+ minute walk to the Cinque Terre Coast to Coast. As a hint, if you get there early, you can wait around for someone to leave and you can park there. When we went, there was someone working at the Rio Park, and we were directed to wait behind one other car, so we were second in line. Within a half-hour, we were in Rio Park and parked. Finding Coast to Coast could be a little tricky, but if you pay careful attention to the directions, it shouldn’t be a problem—at least it wasn’t for us. Keep in mind, you will be walking up some steep stairs, so if you have heavy luggage, you will get a workout!||Additionally, we received an email at least a week or two before getting to the area. The email contained very good, important information about the apartment plus the area including things to do and parking. After parking, we were in contact with Aurelie, and she provided additional help in locating Coast to Coast. We liked Coast to Coast, and even with the minor negatives, we would stay...
Read moreStayed for 3 nights in the Pontente room.||Perfect for a couple. Very clean, fantastic view of the sea and parts of the town. A small balcony that you can sit out on (facing each other) and admire view, have some wine/food, a retractable awning if you need to hide from the sun.||AC worked adequately and there was not any smell of mold or mildew.||Small breakfast serviced between 9 and 10 (couple croissants, jam, juice).||The care taker was very friendly!||Did not hear any noise from the neighbouring guests.||||Caution - need to be aware that Riomaggiore is very steep, from the train station you need to walk up the hill in town, then once you reach the immediate area of the apartment you need to walk up a number of stairs and then, finally, a very steep set of stairs to get to the apartment. A person in poor physical health could have a very difficult time getting there and then doing this every day multiple times as you...
Read moreWe arrived earlier than our noon expected time, and the staff was so accommodating and gracious they even brought us tea and coffee while we waited. They scurried to clean our room even though we were more than happy to sit on the patio and enjoy the awesome view. This place is quite the hike to get to but worth it. Very huge and comfortable room decorated so tastefully. The window and door shades were perfect in keeping it dark in the morning. The included breakfast was a tasty croissant and toast with jam, along with bottled fruit juice and hot coffee and tea. Clara and (sorry can’t recall the other woman’s name) who served us breakfast were charming and fun to talk to. Only complaint we had was that the WiFi was bad in our lower level room. We would get connected only to get disconnected soon after, and the only way to get back on was to go out on the courtyard. I gave up on it after...
