Worst experience and worst service in Italy. Asked for a vegetarian recommendation of a bruschetta and they brought a stale piece of bread with anchovies. When I kindly told the server that it had anchovies and we weren’t having it one server said it was ok and sorry. Then another waitress came and said we where still going to have to pay for it because we ordered it, even though we didn’t eat it and even though we asked for a veggie recommendation. She began arguing with us and raising her voice and then yelling in front of other customers. We couldn’t believe we were being yelled at, at a restaurant…. and other customers had a bad time with the scene…it had never happened in our lives… I read other reviews about the rude staff and the horrible experience and absolutely mediocre food & service and I couldn’t agree more. Go in there at your own risk, you might just get yelled at. Horrible, horrible experience. Lady then laughed at us when we complained we didn’t want to pay for the dish yelling at us and treating us poorly. I said I wasn’t paying 12€ for a dish I got served wrongly and she mocked me by correcting and saying it wasn’t just 12€ but 15€. Hands down the absolutely worst experience I’ve had in a restaurant in my life. It’s like they’re doing you a favor for just letting...
Read moreWe went to this bar to bridge the time until our ferry left. We sat upstairs under the cover to escape the blazing sun. As the waitress came to our table, she mentioned we could move tables, because this particular table “was hot”. This seemed to be a nice offer. She then proceeded to ask us for our order. We ordered drinks: one cocktail and two beers. Since we were four adults, the waitress stated that we would have to order four drinks if we wanted to sit at a table. As soon as we heard that, we got up and left the place immediately. There is one thing that bothers me more than anything else: being ripped off. The prices for everything were already massively overpriced, which we were willing to accept for the location (piccolo beer for €4, more than we have paid ANYWHERE in Cinque Terre). Then trying to squeeze out even more money was completely unacceptable. I need to add that there were several open tables around us, so they were not crowded and needed the space... As many others already confirmed: poor service and I would not...
Read moreAbsolute tourist trap for the ferries. I’m staying 8 nights in Riomaggiore with a balcony and better view of the town and ocean. We ordered a Compari and Aperol spritz and the waitress brought the bill with the drinks(not just the receipt so that you know which table you’re at, but the actual credit card reader and asked me to pay). Never in Italy have I been rushed to “chug” a cocktail and leave for other tourists. Perhaps if you only have a day trip to riomaggiore and need the ocean view I get it, but this is 100% not an Italian experience. No snacks included with drinks (apperitivo) and we were rushed out. Didn’t even let us order another drink. I know Americans like TripAdvisor and yelp, but please save your money and experience for some take away focaccia and walk it to the marina if u don’t have a view from your airbnb. Now that I’ve been up on my balcony watching the ferries come in countless times I can understand how they can get away with this… very sad representation of...
