i am very disappointed and i hate to write such a low review, as i was very, very excited to eat at this establishment. however, the food was unpalatable and i quickly lost my appetite.
first, ordering from a QR code might pose difficulties for some people, and asking for the check through the website doesn’t really do anything (you still have to go up to the desk and ask to pay).
second, the lack of pictures in the online menu poses an issue, as different regions of china make certain dishes differently. for example, i was expecting dim sum style chicken feet (covered in sauce, served hot, etc.), but i was met with a version that was ice cold, covered in vinegar and chili oil. i felt bad so i choked as much as i could down anyway. we also had steamed pork buns, in which the dough was very tough & the meat was lukewarm, as if they were microwaved.
third, i was expecting chinese style la mian but was met with a concoction that somehow didn’t taste like anything? it felt like eating cup noodles with water… i’m chinese-filipino and asian food is a staple in my diet, but i have never felt so sorry to have eaten a meal at a restaurant.
this is the first meal i have not finished while in italy. we just paid for the ingredients and cooking efforts, and left. i am very sorry but we will not return to this establishment, and advise others...
Read more21 sept 2021, i was asking my husband to eat other food because i feel lil bit tired of eating pizza or pasta (as a tourist), then we found this small, clean and cheap chinese restaurant, just 2 minutes from our hotel. We were eating 1 big bowl of chicken noodle soup, 1 plate of rice with pancetta (gaifan con pancetta), 4 pcs of xiaomai and 2 soft drinks.
All just cost less than 20 euros. Days before we were having breakfast in a cafetería, 2 paninis and 2 cups of coffee it cost 17 euros.
The taste was good and reminds me of my country (Indonesia), this is my first time to come to a chinese comfort food restaurants in Europe after 2 years i've been living in Spain. That's why I felt lil bit emotional when i eat it haha
The minus for me is just the language, because we just speak spanish and english, and it's lil bit hard to communicate with them. Because i think they didn't speak italian either, (i just read another review).
Overall it's a 5 stars from me....
Read moreThe smashed cucumber salad is absolutely delicious!
We are tourists staying in the area and wanted some more vegetables in our diet for today (instead of carbs carbs carbs). We enjoy Chinese food in Canada so we thought to try this place as the menu and photos looked authentic. We ordered smashed cucumber salad, bok choy stir fry, and couldn't help but order two bowls of noodle soup and pan fried gyoza (they call "raviolis" here) when we saw what other local Chinese patrons were eating.
Ohhhh, we demolished the cucumbers and gyoza so fast! The lamien (they called "ramen") was also good, and the meat was so tasty! Will definitely come back even if just for the gyoza...
