Read why i have given 1 star.
Location. Pretty good, near to major areas and not far from most shopping area.
The atmosphere and place is very nice, cosy decor and nice feel.
Food, is good. Maybe we were a little late at the night, one of the desired dish not available. Vino rosso 375ml also not available.
Taste for pasta is good. Can't say much for other dishes since we didn't manage to order others.
We also notice we weren't served any bread, when it was served to all other tables.
The service I have given 1 star because:
We waited for a while to take order, though we don't mind, but I notice the particular server took order from 1 table who came much later than us and somehow avoided us. When he finally came to our table, he spoke in full Italian to me, and when I didn't understand and shook my head and told him i don't understand what did he say, he seemed frustrated and let out a sigh of disgust and finally spoke in English and said he only can take my drinks order. Interestingly, he didn't know we have been waiting for him to take our order so we knew and heard he was speaking in good English (with somewhat American slang) to all other foreign diners and chatting happily. And he did take all other tables order including food except ours. Was it because I am Asian? As I saw all other tables were western tourists and he served them well.
It is a pity that this particular server failed badly in his service and attitude to his diners.
Another server, who was really friendly, nice and polite, came to serve us our wine and I asked if he could take our food order and he said yes and was smiling and was very nice.
I asked the same server (in the picture) who didn't seem to like us, for the bill and he threw the change onto our table and mumbled some Italian words which I can't understand and it was definitely not "thank you" or "thank you for coming".
It is disheartening to see such service which is obviously discriminating and unfortunately for that, we chose not to order any additional food and give any tips. But I have given 1 star as a result ( which is already...
Read moreToday was a dream come true for me as I ate my very first pizza in Rome at Al Caminetto. We just started our Italian voyage, and it didn’t take long before we stepped into the restaurant to savor some traditional local flavors over lunch. From the warm aroma of cheesy garlic bread to the fresh tomatoes in their signature Pizza, all were incredibly appetizing and inviting, I was excited to see what it had to offer. My tastebuds tingled as soon as we stepped inside and breathed in the smell of fresh pizza baking in a brick oven not too far away. We sat down outside with its outdoor seating that can be heated and cooled depending on the situation, you are bound to find something perfect for yourself here! If you’re looking for a perfect way to enjoy your day outside this is the place. Even though this was the first place we sat down, and so close to our hotel, nothing could have prepared me for how amazing every bite was going to taste. Although it's hard to pick a favorite dish due to everything being delicious - that homemade doughy crust really made this experience unforgettable! if you get a chance to come to Al Caminetto, you wont regret...
Read moreAvoid at any cost! I've stumbled upon this place very randomly, took my chances thinking how bad could it be? Turns out it can be very bad indeed. I've ordered the Saltimbocca and the waiter came back to me saying to chose something else as the meat to make them was basically expired and as I'm Italian he would not serve rotten food to me (!!) after that comment you surely don't feel very inspired to eat, but nevertheless I went ahead and asked for a simple chicken breast...my oh my.. Absolutely tasteless, bland and not cooked properly, I've left half or it on the plate, tried to chuck it down with a glass of house wine, but that turned out to be the most disgusting wine ever created on Earth... Needless to say, I'm expecting to see againy dinner very soon. Seriously people saying food is good there must have never ate in a civilised country or must be on crack.....
