This was the most incredible Experience! Firstly the atmosphere of the restaurant drew us in based on the beautiful outdoor seating, we were told by the lovely hostess that there was a 20 minute wait for outside seating but there was space available inside. Thank goodness we took her suggestion of going inside because we were led through the restaurant to a back room where we were seated in the most amazing room (which we had all to ourselves). It was lit by candlelight and had the most romantic Italian atmosphere. Not only were the table arrangements stunning but the entire room was perfectly arranged down to the smallest detail. We ordered a round of drinks, the bolognaise and two deserts. The waiters were incredible, very smartly dressed and extremely attentive. The food was 1000/10 absolutely perfect. Would definitely recommend the peach Bellini to anyone that visits in summer it was a perfect & refreshing addition to the meal. Between dinner and dessert the waiters brought around a red rose to every woman in the restaurant as a gift from the owner. We were also gifted chocolate hearts with our desert and as we were leaving. We stayed until the restaurant was soon to be closing but even as we were leaving the amazing hospitality didn’t end, we were offered complimentary limoncello and when we declined we were also offered coffee as an alternative. I have to say this was the most wonderful experience at a restaurant I think I’ve ever had. For those wondering it was less than a minute from the Trevi Fountain but this didn’t take away from the quality of the food or service at all. Thank you very much to the lovely owner for my rose 🌹 and thank you to all the staff for a...
Read moreThe waitress who greeted us out front was nice enough and the decor was charming. That’s where the good ended. We went here on a whim and should have read the reviews first. Service was terribly slow. We ordered a beer and a glass of champagne to start. The champagne was completely flat, and the beer was warm. Room temperature warm. We later opened a bottle of champagne ourselves and had a small glass a day for 4 days. After the 4th day it was still far better than what we were served. So we sent the drinks back immediately after tasting them and said we were good on drinks besides the water. Food was nothing special at all for the price. Serving size was sad. Bill took forever and they charged us for the drinks we sent back so had to correct them on it. We were there before it got busy so there was no excuse. Not that being busy should allow for POOR QUALITY EVERYTHING. Central Rome was hard to find a really good restaurant and we didn’t really enjoy the food a whole lot anywhere here. Not like in Naples where the food was way better. Out of about 8 restaurants we went to in Rome this was by far the worst. In fact it was the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had period. I had a suspicion they were talking about us in Italian and the other reviews pretty much confirmed that. They should close but unfortunately enough of us tourists spend money there to keep them opened. The definition of a...
Read moreMe and my family, visited this restaurant on July 17th at 10 PM, and it was by far the worst dining experience we had during our trip to Italy.
We waited about 5 minutes to be seated, which was totally fine. But once we sat down, we were completely ignored for 20 minutes while other tables—who arrived after us—were greeted, served, and brought drinks.
When a waiter finally approached us, and did not say hi or how can I help you, he just stood there looking down at his iPad. We asked what the most popular pasta dish was. His response? A rude and dismissive “all of them” accompanied by an eye roll and dramatic sigh. When I followed up and asked which he recommended, he rolled his eyes again, let out another huff, and yelled “the carbonara.” From that point on, it was clear he wanted nothing to do with us.
He passed us off to a different server (who was thankfully kind and helpful), but guess who came back with the bill? Yep—our original waiter, suddenly interested because the 10% service fee (tip) was included in the check. Unbelievable.
Not sure if the treatment was because we’re not locals, but this place made us feel incredibly unwelcome. It was uncomfortable, disrespectful, and disappointing.
Tourists, beware—there are far better places in Italy where you’ll be treated with basic courtesy and enjoy a meal without being made to feel like a burden. This isn’t...
