Angelo's — Restaurant in Rome

Georgeo was wonderful staff serving us for the afternoon after a long 3 hr tour at the Vatican that left son and I tired and cranky. 😅 But we were warmly welcomed by both Franco briefly and Georgeo who served us thereafter our we sat down.

Georgeo (spoke some English to make us feel comfortable) was really helpful with the wine list and what I’d prefer; to have a dry white that needed little sweet after the tour, that would accompany our 1st course - Carbonara. He recommended to taste a subtly fizzy white that would suit my liking and I did enjoy the white every much. I’m pleased with it 100%.

We were also greeted by Angelo’s with a complimentary sparkling bubbly and Pepsi (for the 12yr old) with a bite of salami and bread w olive oil while waiting for our main course. Orange juice for the boy was freshly squeezed and we were not let down with the Pasta Carbonara at all!

The bacon was fried to a crisp that oozed with delicious tender bacon flavour with the crunch, reminded me of fried pork lard we have in our Asian culture but delicate and tender juicy.

The pasta I believe was handmade from the looks and bite of the texture and thickness, perfect al Dante and the carbonara sauce was the right amount of salt that didn’t need anything else.

Overall we were very happy and pleased with our meal served at Angelo’s Trattoria right by the skirts of St. Peter’s Square.

The experience at Angelo’s wouldn’t have been perfect without Georgeo! I don’t know if it’s the usual practice at Angelos but having Georgeo go the extra mile to serve his customers alittle extra to end of the meal without expectations (a pleasant surprise) was a great experience as a 1st time in Rome.

Perfect humble genuine service that I would recommend a stop by after visiting St.Peters. My son and I were 100% pleased and happy at Angelo’s.
