This restaurant was included as part of the package with our hotel for breakfast. Your experience and expectation may differ considerably from this review.
Despite the lackluster reviews online, the food and service were decent, however, not consistent. On the first day, I had ordered egg omelette with ham and cheese, bread and bacon on the side. I got bread, but no bacon, with the meal. The following day, I ordered the same dish. This time the bacon was included. The presentation and taste was vastly improved. The waitress explained the chef did not show up the day before, which explains a lot. Who cooked my meal on the first day?
Few problems, with quick and simple remedies. Hire a good chef, pay him/her well. The wait-staff seems to be on-board, with good professionalism. The service on the first day took 20-25 minutes to get the first meal, drinks were promptly delivered, however. Keep the customers engaged, bring extra bread or some water, to keep them from thinking about the long wait. A simple smile and engagement with the customers would alleviate any strain in the relationship.
Also on a side note, if seated outside, be careful with your belongings. This part is not unique to this restaurant but it generally applies to all and any tourist destination. I was sitting on the outer seat, waiting for my meal to arrive and felt a tug on my bag which was wrapped around my leg, I quickly looked around and saw two guys walking away quickly down the street, staring at me over their shoulders. I can't say for sure that they tried to steal my bag, but that tug on my bag couldn't be mistaken for anything but an attempt. Again, this incident is not unique to this restaurant and it should not be counted against them....
Read moreNot even 1 star! Iâm not really one to write bad reviews, nor do I pay attention to many of them- but I really felt compelled to write something. It wasnt the worst place in the world, but it by far the worst experience we had in Rome. Considering itâs right in the heart of the piazza I expected a little more. The Staff were rude, the manager was barking at staff and the music was loud.
I ordered an aperol spritz and bruschetta, mid afternoon- restaurant was quiet and not busy. The waiter came back twice to confirm my order.
The spritz was probably the worst Iâve had during my entire 3 weeks in Italy (which I didnât think was possible) it was flat, no carbonation, and pretty sure there sure there wasnt any Prosecco in it.
The tomato bruschetta came as a deconstructed plate of stuff with sliced tomato with two pieces of bread, which I then had to slice up and make my own bruschetta.
And the cost for this âmake your ownâ experience ÂŁ41 / $67 AUD
The positive- inside there are a few tables and the aircon is ok- not cold- bust provided some respite from the heat. Water was cold.
0.5/5 for experiences in Rome. (Half a point for...
Read moreIF you found yourself in the square and was wondering where to eat, I wouldnât recommend them, we ordered food and drinks, had the food and went and sat outside to finish the drinks, although we were literally the only table in the restaurant, the waiter said you have to order another drink otherwise you have to go! That is while I still had my drink half full in front of me! It wasnât like people were queuing outside the door or anything! Italy is meant to be relaxing and sitting there enjoying the view, take it in a bit but the staff kept taking the menus away and I like to order bit by bit, which for a restaurateur only means more and more if they keep the menu at the table but they were obsessed by taking the menu, once I looked away and looked back and asked my sister if the waitress had taken the menu again! We wouldnât go back just because of the service! Food...
