I went out and wandered to this bar after seeing that it was relatively well reviewed online. It is located in a luxury hotel, and you may need to request to be seated. The hostess seated us quickly and was very kind.
After that, things started to go downhill. As I had only come out to grab a quick drink, I didn't think there would be any problems. I ordered a specialty cocktail - which was an absurd 25 euros. This is beyond overpriced, bordering on ripping people off. They gave some snacks along with it, which was nice at least. After seeing the outrageous prices, I decided I didn't want any more drinks.
My drink came to the table - it was an Aperol Spritz. Either they served me the wrong drink or their specialty drink is literally a 25 euro Aperol spritz. How crazy is that? And it gets worse... the bill came over - the glass of water was 10 euro and they added a 15% tip automatically bringing the total to 42 euro for ONE DRINK. Now, I understand that this is a luxury hotel, but let's not be dense - this is outright predatory behavior. They understand that many tourists are used to a tipping culture, so they automatically add this in. On top of that, they understand that their clientele are generally wealthy, so they reach into their wallets and charge insane amounts. The quality of the drink wasn't even special - I've had Spritz for 8 euro that tasted better. Seriously, what is going on here? Is this normal for this establishment?
My recommendation: go here for drinks if you want to be overcharged for the drink (every cocktail is 25 euro), charged 10 euro for water, and receive an additional 15% tip fee automatically. If you don't care about your money and want to throw it away for virtually no service or food (they literally served me one drink) then this is the place to go. It's too bad - had they not been so money-hungry, they certainly could've received more stars! Don't prey on tourists, tipping culture, or wealthy guests - just be fair... it is really...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTook my mother and my husband for an apperitivo to the bar and couldnāt be more disappointed. Was treated very very awful by staff. We got sat quickly and that would be the only positive. Service was extremely slow, waited forever for our order. All the tables around us who came long after us received their order before us. Only after everyone was served I could see barman starting making ours. When drinks finally arrived they were awful, tasteless liquid over huge amount of ice, none of the flavours mentioned in cocktail menu was present in any of our cocktails. Really not worth the wait, price, hype. Everyone around us also received more and bigger variety of snacks. And it clearly wasnāt snacks that they ordered but a standard ones for the bar, as all exactly the same on every table except ours. We were thrown a bowl of crisps on the table, that was it. Also waiters kept topping up others with snacks only not us. When it came to the bill, I had to walk to the till/desk point to pay my bill where very rude, what it looked like, manager spoke to me via waiter standing next to us, almost like I wasnāt worthy to be spoken to. To top it all up, they added ā¬11 to my bill as a service charge!!! It was not mentioned on the menu but they added it anyways. The whole visit was awful. We were treated very very rudely, served horrible drinks and expected to tip staff, joke! Considering that it is a hotel bar and everyone should be welcome, I felt and was treated like Iām a foreigner who is really not invited. I was extremely embarrassed in front of my guests first bringing them to such poor bar. Highly advise everyone to stay away unless you know any of the staff then possibly might receive some sort of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy visit to Stravinskij Bar with two friends proved to be a perfect example of how poor service can ruin a beautiful setting. While the ambience and decor are undoubtedly five-star quality, the inadequate service would be unacceptable even at a casual diner.
My coffee took forever to arrive. After a while our table became increasingly cluttered with dirty items - empty glasses, used coffee cups, milk jugs and no less than three large snack trays (two of which sat empty for the duration). I keep physically pushing dirty items to one corner to gain space. Despite staff passing by, no one cleared anything. We ordered club sandwiches and salad specifically requesting twice - no pork due to my Middle Eastern guests' dietary requirements. Club sandwich not only included pork but omitted the egg, completely altering the dish. The realization halfway through the meal caused understandable distress to my guests. What's worse, the apparent manager or supervisor remained disengaged letting the junior staff running the show - too busy socializing with another guest next to our table for prolonged period of time to address any service mishap. His indifferent attitude as his junior staff struggled was particularly unprofessional. Other issues included open, half-used condiment pots left on tables. Tables maintainance was very poor with dirty cutlery, open condiment jars and food debris left at the table after the meal This establishment is clearly suffering from understaffing or a lack of proper training. While the physical space is magnificent, at these price points, guests deserve...
