Our first impression of this restaurant was good and the proprietor was friendly. It was full and lively. including a large party of locals. We ordered fillet beef with potatoes and pasta.with side salad. The beef was predominantly gristle and the potatoes burnt. The salad was a minuscule bit of lettuce. The pasta dish was tasty but very basic and in any case pasta in Rome should be of a high standard which this wasn’t. Once again the side salad comprised some lettuce and 4 pieces of minuscule tomatoes. We had tiramisu which was tasteless and my profiteroles were hard. When we raised the matter of the beef with the owner, he dismissed us saying that this was Irish beef, which is always grisly. As frequent buyers of Irish beef in the UK we know that isn’t the case. We never encountered poor standard of Irish beef. There are other restaurants in the area offering a more varied menu. In sum, and because of our experience, we consider this restaurant does not offer good value for money and would not...
Read moreWe visited on Saturday 29 June 2024 and absolutely loved this restaurant! The employees were so friendly! They had even ended their siesta early so we could dine when we had arrived. Also the food was amazing. We had the bruschetta (all three great spreads-tomato, seafood, and a sweet pistachio spread), my husband had the veal special of the day, and I had the carbonara with artichokes (also current special of the day). We also had tiramisu for dessert. They had handmade the pasta which was wonderful! The sauce from the veal was wonderful-especially when we used the bread they gave us to scrape the plate (which is how they want you to eat the bread from the basket in Rome). We have some family that are heading to Rome later this week and have already raved about this place for them to try while they are in town. It helped that it was so close to the hotel we were staying at, Best Western Hotel Presidente, which is very close to the...
Read moreThis one snuck up on us! We stayed just down the road and didn’t even know this place existed as when they’re shut down all the tables and plants go inside so it looks like a graffiti wall and some closed up doors. Well, we needed a later dinner due to a day trip we took and we decided to go down the block. When we arrived all tables outside were full but the server asked if we wanted to sit outside. We didn’t want to wait but he could tell and said “it’s possible” and immediately started to bring a table and chairs outside for us, WHAT! It gets better, the food was top notch, very reasonably priced and tasted great! Don’t let the older menu fool you, the service was one of the two best we’ve had in Rome and Paris last week and the food was great! Don’t let this one sneak past you like it...
