Pity that one person can sour an experience.

I’ll start by saying the gelato is fantastic. We had dark chocolate, peanut butter and choc, raspberry, pistachio, passion fruit and ricotta and cherry. All great!

The first day we came we had a wonderful experience. The lady was nice and we enjoyed the gelato and tiramisu, so much so we ordered a box of tiramisu to go.

We looked forward to our second experience. Unfortunately, we were met with a poor guest experience. The male server gave us significantly smaller portions to the day prior and then proceeded to offer chocolate sauce only. When I asked for cream (which I watched them offer both to all other guests) he provided it reluctantly. When my husband was ordering his flavours he had some questions (as we don’t speak Italian) on what the flavour was. There was a Ricotta and Cherry flavour (we later found out) but when husband asked what is with the ricotta? The server replied it’s ricotta, it’s a cheese (with sass). My husband clarified his question yes but what is the flavour with it in the description? At that point we were able to get the full answer.

I then asked for spoons because he didn’t give us any and then he looked at me and said I already gave you one (once again with a lot of sass). Anyway, we eventually got the spoons…

I was disappointed with my second experience and it really put such a dampener on the experience. I watched the male server serve other guests after us and was very friendly. I felt there was level of discrimination which was extra disappointing. Not sure what we did to deserve the treatment.

A note for the owner to please encourage your staff to treat...

I found this gelato shop while visiting the Colosseum. The place is super cute and the staff is friendly. The quality of the gelato is amazing, and it is by far the best I have tried in Rome. Everything seems super fresh and of the best quality. The shop is very clean and it is located in a side street in a very nice neighborhood.

We tried the chocolate, milk, cookie and cream, raspberry, and lemon gelatos. They were all very good, but I would mix the lemon and raspberry gelatos together, as I felt they were too strong on their own, but together they are just perfect. We also tried the affogato, which was great. The only part of the experience that I did not like was that they used coffee pods for the espresso. In Italy, I expect espresso to be made by a real espresso machine, especially when you are in a nice, fancy establishment.

Overall, I would give this gelato shop a 5 out of 5 stars for the gelato and the ambiance. The service was also good, but I would have preferred that they used a real espresso machine for the affogato.

The ice cream here is good, but I would like to pay attention to one point. For this I take off one star, initially I wanted to take off two, but this will not be entirely fair, since the ice cream was good. I chose flavors. I decided to take one without sugar, since this option is proposed in the gelateria. I got my ice cream, and I went to pay. And suddenly ive been told that the price is 4.50€ I didn’t understand and asked why so much, if the price for the medium cup ice cream is 3.50€ the answer was the following: you have no sugar ice cream flavor, it is more expensive. I said oh, I didn't know that. They replied that that’s why they usually ask you to pay first (well, no one asked me about it). If asked, I would have paid first without any questions. But they didn't ask. Moreover, why then, when I asked for chocolate flavor without sugar, no one informed me that it would be more expensive? The ice cream is good, but I have an unpleasant feeling that I was not told when I chose the flavors that it would be more expensive…

Yes, the price list says that no sugar ice cream is more expensive. But it is listed below the standard prices. If I have already found the price of ice cream, I do not suspect that there may be some other prices for the same ice cream below.
