Il Bersagliere - Prati — Restaurant in Rome

Having spent 3 days in Rome where we have sampled incredible food off the cuff, we came here for our last meal as it was nearby our apartment and wow what a disappointment. The food was shocking. Luke warm, flavourless and undercooked. It would be a prime candidate for Gordon Ramsey. First of all they give you a basket of old stale bread which you don’t ask for and then charge you €4 euros for the pleasure. The pizza toppings sliding off the pizza, burnt on the outside cold in the middle. Ravioli was cold and thick and and was not cooked properly, which they claimed is home made on site. The tomato sauce was so bland they might as well have tipped a tin of cold tomatoes on it. The stuffing was extremely dry and I can only describe as a few days old. Ordered strozzapreti with bacon and mushroom - this was by far the worse thing that arrived. It smelt terrible, it was watery, the bacon was overdone lardons - the mushrooms from a tin, no strozzapreti but spaghetti which was not cooked ( not al denti it wasn’t cooked) and the cheese smelt terrible I couldn’t even touch it. I’m Not one to leave negative reviews but the staff were disinterested and when I challenged the bread she said it was a table charge. They also automatically charge 15% table service which I also challenged and got no where. Quite frankly I would avoid this restaurant as there are so many fantastic eateries nearby and unfortunately we just got unlucky...

Terrible service and an atrocious 15% service fee. Our antipasti plate sat empty for over 15 minutes until the main eventually came and I had to ask to have it removed. Plus, I asked for the bill which didn't come for a further 20 minutes which I again had to request they bring a second time. And service in general was very mediocre, no real personality or vibe from the waiters and they were barely present for you to ask for their assistance. And with the aforementioned 15% service fee is a disgrace (the waiter also stood watching me the entire time I was getting my purse out to pay!). And to top it all off, as mentioned in other reviews, they brought us €2 bread we never asked for. Awful restaurant. Couldn't regret having our last meal in...

We had to wait a lot for everything. 30 mins for a pizza and spaghetti which is okay then 15 mins for 2 tiramisu then 10 mins for 2 cappuccino and after 10 mins for the check. Worst thing is that we said during the order of the cappucino and the dessert that we would like the check with the order because we are in a hurry. We felt like they didn't cared about us at all because we were foreigners and they cared much more about the Italian customers. Originally we wanted to give a tip but because we got late from our already paid program and because they had 15% service fee, we didn't, of course after that our waiter became incredibly rude. Can't recommend this...
