Great location, terrific waiter, terrible food and terrible management. We ordered sauteed spinach, and sauteed cicoria. It was very dry, with no taste. But we ate what we could. The pasta came, and we were hopefully, because the food LOOKS good. But unfortunately the taste was disgusting, leaves you feeling nauseous at the thought. My girlfriend is still burping, the people next to us had the grilled chicken Caesar, the chicken was not grilled. They also sent their pasta back, saying they've had carbonara, but "this" was not carbonara.. The sauce for penne arrabiata was like from a can, with no spice. The pasta soggy. I ordered cacio e pepe. We both have had this meal so many times on this trip, it's not funny. Mine was soggy, overcooked, the sauce tasted like it came from a Knorr instant packet. The wine was great, can't mess that up, can you? Our waiter was very kind, and wanted to help us. We asked to send the pasta back after a bite, and asked for the check, the check came with the pasta still on, the manager refused to remove it, until the bitter end. My girlfriend took out the translator to explain to the manager that if the quality is poor, to the point of inedibility, and we do not eat the food, it is within our right to not pay for it. After much debate we did in fact not pay for the pasta, we gave our waiter a tip, and went to the restaurant we ate at the day before:...
Read moreWe ordered 2 Carbonaras, a Mushroom Risotto and a ricotta cannelloni. The prices and location were decent, and we chose to eat here because of the high ratings. But we were disappointed, especially by the portions.
Firstly, the server was nice but forgot about us sitting outside, which was strange considering there were only 3-4 other tables.
Our first carbonara was the worst one we’ve had in Rome- chewy, no egg, and tasted like the pasta had cooled down and then they had microwaved it.
Our second carbonara was creamier but still not comparable to any other carbonara we’ve had.
The mushroom risotto tasted like Campbell mushroom soup. As someone who likes Campbell soup, this was fine. The portion was not enough to be filling. While it tasted good, we would recommend getting something else along with it to fill you up.
The cannelloni was 3 noodles. We don’t know if this is typical serving size for cannellonis, but it looked sad and tiny compared to our other dishes. The taste was good though.
Overall, we only went here because of the good reviews raving that they were underrated. We concluded that it was actually overrated. We won’t...
Read moreOn this Friday 29th afternoon, we ordered 2 Coke in this restaurant, after kindly asking if it was okay to order only refreshments without food, since the restaurant was empty. When we asked to pay, the owner told us that there is an additional charge of 1€, only because we didn’t order any food. The menu was clearly saying 4€ and it’s no where written that there is this extra charge. So we should pay 5€ Coke instead of 4€. We mentioned that to the owner and he immediately got mad, telling us to leave without paying if we didn’t want to pay the extra 1€, acting as we were dishonest people and thiefs. We went inside to force him to accept our money, he still didn’t want. We left the exact amount of money on the bar, as honest people and he immediately took it to throw it on the street’s floor. He began to be very aggressive telling us and threatening that he will call the police and sue us..??( whereas we paid for the full amount as honest people ). Clearly avoid this place if you want to spend a peaceful time because the owner has the worst...
