I let my oldest daughter pick a place for us to eat and she chose this one based on the reviews. It is definitely a cute place and it was packed when we got there. Perhaps that explained why the servers were a little overwhelmed and a little cold and not friendly or attentive at all. It was hard to flag them down & only the non-Asian server seemed to care about customers.
Food-wise, everything tasted fine, but was small in portion.
I got the eggs Royale, which is their version of eggs Benedict and they were completely tiny. On the plus side, the eggs were poached very well. It was also served with a tiny bit of hollandaise sauce, and a bit of salad mix and a few slices of tomato. The potatoes served with the eggs Benedict were very small in portion and just soft… Not crispy like I was expecting. For the price, I’m not sure it was really worth it.
My kids enjoyed their pancakes and waffles and eggs plus bacon dish. But we also ordered a fresh squeezed juice as well as one smoothie and the smoothie cost €9.5. The value wasn’t there for me.
My daughter said she would return and order avocado toast but I wouldn’t come back. Worth visiting once if you’re in the area and want a break from...
Read moreI’ve dined at Molly’s Garden twice during my visit to Rome. The first time I went I ordered their bagel and pancakes with ice coffee. Bagel: the bread was not a bagel. It was only shaped like a bagel but it did not have the flavor or texture of a bagel. I would not recommend. Pancakes: flavor was nice but the portion and the amount of fruit given was far too little. Ice coffee: it was good.
The second time I went I ordered a wrap. At first they gave me the wrong wrap order. They then took it back and brought back my original order but it was extremely soggy. I also ordered an affogato which is usually served in a mug but they served it in a bowl with sprinkles on top. It was not what I expected from an Italian cafe in Rome. Very disappointing and not worth the money.
Overall I would not recommend if you want a traditional Italian breakfast...
Read moreI ordered the “Italian breakfast set” for breakfast with friends. It came with what is shown in the pictures (cappuccino, some toast and finger foods) as well as a fruit bowl (some strawberries, blueberries, and apples, sliced and doused in a syrup). Overall, the meal itself was fairly mediocre with the exception of the cappuccino, which I greatly enjoyed. The toast was super thin and the fruit was overly sweet because of the syrup, which it didn’t need. Overall, this meal set cost €24, which felt fairly overpriced. I wouldn’t order it again.
However, the restaurant does have one giant window that opens to the alleyway outside and I enjoyed being able to dine with a breeze, so atmosphere...
