An Absolute Gem! ! ❤️

We stumbled upon this little restaurant purely by chance, after searching for “gnocchi” on google maps (my partner’s absolute favourite) while staying at our airbnb just around the corner. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the loveliest server. I ordered my favourite, lasagna! My partner, of course, went straight for the pistaccho gnocchi. He was obsessed with it, and he swears this was the BEST gnocchi he’s ever had. In fact, he’s now slightly sad, because nothing back home in Australia will ever compare! We also shared a bottle of wine, which was just as delightful as the food. Despite being the only server and the restaurant being very busy, our waitress was fantastic, friendly, attentive, and somehow managing to keep everything running smoothly while darting back and forth between tables. She truly deserves all the credit! The restaurant itself is tucked away on a quiet side street, with no outdoor seating, but inside it’s cool and comfortable thanks to air-conditioning and fans. Honestly, if it had outdoor tables and was more visible to people passing by, you’d probably never be able to get a seat! We’ve already decided we’ll be back here every day until we leave. A true 10/10 experience in every way with delicious food, amazing service, and a cosy...

My wife and her parents and I were looking for a place to eat after a long day of looking at chiese and found Pasta Urbana. I got fettuccine with tomato sauce and meatballs, my wife got a lasagna, and my in laws got a salad and shared a plate of gnocchi. For dessert, I got a cannolo and my wife got a tiramisù custard. The fettuccine with meatballs was delicious, my in laws really enjoyed their generously-portioned salads and their gnocchi and my wife loved her lasagna although it was too big for her to finish. She was offered a box to take it home in, but as we are leaving Rome tomorrow and our hotel doesn't have a microwave, we didn't bring it with us. The waitress (who appeared to also be the restaurant manager?) was very welcoming and kind the whole time we were there. The tiramisù custard was lovely and my cannolo was delightful. I had wanted to order a glass of wine but I couldn't find the word "vino" on the menu and wasn't confident enough to ask, so I assumed that there wasn't wine (a stupid assumption in Italy, I know). While I was waiting for the cannolo I saw another group get glasses of wine.

I had a hard time writing this review without using a thesaurus to find more words to say how tasty...

Pasta Urbana was one of our favorite meals during our time in Rome! The food, the ambiance, and the hospitality were all top-notch.

I ordered the Polpette Cacio e Pepe (No. 24) – meatballs in a rich, creamy pecorino cheese and black pepper sauce. Absolutely delicious and comforting, especially paired with the fresh bread to scoop up every last bit of that sauce.

My wife had the Tagliata di Manzo (No. 26) – perfectly cooked beef entrecôte served over fresh arugula, shaved grana cheese, and cherry tomatoes. Fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented.

Our daughter chose the Caesar Salad (No. 28) and loved the generous portion of grilled chicken, crisp lettuce, parmesan shavings, and crunchy croutons.

The owner was incredibly kind and attentive—he even surprised us with a free espresso at the end of the meal, which was smooth and bold, just how we like it.

The menu offers a great mix of traditional Roman pasta, meat dishes, seafood, and desserts, all reasonably priced for the quality. We’ll absolutely be coming back on our next visit to Rome. Highly recommend!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Elevated Dining Experience at Pasta Urbana Pasta Urbana is a true hidden gem that effortlessly blends modern ambiance with authentic Italian charm. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed by warm, attentive staff and an atmosphere that feels both upscale and inviting. The menu is a beautifully curated celebration of Italian cuisine, featuring handcrafted pasta made fresh daily, bold and balanced flavors, and locally sourced ingredients. I highly recommend the Lasagna al pomodoro e basilico , cheesy meaty, and perfectly portioned. The house-made tiramisu were equally unforgettable, and the wine list offers thoughtfully selected pairings that elevate every bite. What really sets Pasta Urbana apart is their attention to detail and hospitality. The servers are knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely passionate about the food. The plating is elegant without being pretentious, and every dish feels like it was made with care. Whether you’re planning a romantic dinner, celebrating a special occasion, or just indulging in a quality meal, Pasta Urbana is the kind of place you’ll want to return to again and again.
