Booked an online reservation at 6:45pm for a table of 4. Received email confirmations of such from both Google and Quandoon. We showed up on time at EXACTLY 6:45pm. This is what happened next.
The manager acknowledged the reservation I showed, and pointed to a table on the seating chart on her screen to which she said is available at 7pm. No problem I said. We can wait 15 minutes.
Mind you, there were no other parties waiting to be seated before us. Two other large groups did show up much later than we did however. One was a group of 4 and the other a party of 5. I believe the larger group had no reservation, as I was within earshot of the conversation. Both groups however were seated before us. As the manager, it goes without saying that she has the authority and discretion to seat whoever first. She made a conscious choice on who she seated first.
At the end, we waited 50 minutes for a table, despite having a reservation that we showed up on time for.
It is worth noting was that we made no complaints while we waited. Yet before the manager seated us, she remarked that I should have CALLED to make the reservation instead. From where I'm from, this is called passive aggression and shaming the customer.
When a restaurant offers an online booking system that turns out unreliable, the burden is on the restaurant to be the fixer, not implying the customer is to blame.
Again, waiting for 50 mins on a dinner reservation is unacceptable anywhere in the world. Leading a customeron by saying a table will be available at 7pm then proceeding to seat other parties that came later is a self-serving misrepresentation. Had the manager been truthful, we could have decided to dine somewhere else and not wasted our time. Yet during our wait, she repeated "just 5 more minutes" and "almost ready".
It is better not to make promises than set false expectations.
And I've never felt enraged and shamed by a...

Read moreHad a lunch with my wife and three kids two days ago. The meal we had was just fine, normal italian pasta that one would expect in a restaurant like this. The place however is very small, only couple of tables, and in this small anyways air conditioned restaurant the girl (KALINKA) who seemed nice for first, was staring us whole the time up until we finished the lunch. Not only stared but she did ask questions multiple times that was all in all a bit odd given that we were as a family always in a conversation so she literally interrupted our peaceful lunch. Also the welcome drink -we didn’t ask for- was charged, even thought I told her we came by car, she then brought us aperitif, that we of course did not drink, but again she stared us and even encouraged to dring this “delicious” italian one. In the end we were charged 91 eur for four plates of pasta, that is a bit pricy for the experience. When we did not give tip Kalinka gone to the kitchen without saying goodby and then we just left the place. Giving two stars only because the pasta was good and the...
