Firstly, I am an Australian born Vietnamese travelling around Rome and sadly this is another place that is terrified of anyone with asian appearance.

We were recommended by a local Italian to come as it had, in his opinion one of the best carbonaras. After travelling from the Trevi fountain we were keen to eat some carbonara pasta, we found the place which had a couple seated outside and some free tables inside and out showing that it was open.

With a smile and saying of Buongiorno to the waiter I asked for a table and immediately we were turned away saying that they were "full" and had "reservations" only even though there was plenty of seating inside and out.

It is unfortunate to say but from this experience I would not recommend this place for any tourists of asian appearance or even any tourists because places like this that turn away potential customers just because of their appearance should not be...

Above all else- the service here was subpar, at best. If I could give zero stars, I certainly would. A male patron sitting next to me who arrived well after me had lovely service from my waiter, where I was spoken a single word to and left waiting for all sections of the meal, with my waiter summoning another waiter to seemingly deal with me when I intimated for the check.

Ordinarily I do not write reviews but this was extremely poor service. Unless you are in a large group or wearing high end clothing, go somewhere else. I went here with high expectations and was treated terribly. As for the food- it was decent; though my “vegetarian” pasta had pork parts in it that I can only presume may have been plucked out from a different dish that it originally was. Only positive was I was seated immediately and the atmosphere was decent. But the lack of good service massively...

I never review places because I’m lazy but due to all these other crazy reviews with 1 or 2 stars I feel compelled to tell the real story.

The food here is excellent. All of the local cleregy eat here, my dad just ran into a cardinal who he went to school with. The locals can’t be wrong and the carbonara I just ate was awesome

The menu selection is great, lots of different options of pasta and meat (turkey, veal, beef)

The staff is very friendly, I have pictures of them giving hugs to my mom. Unless you’re rude to them, I have a hard time thinking they would be mean to you

And to top if all off at the end of your meal they put giant bottles of lemoncello and sambuka and amaro on your table for free, drink as much as you want. Just dont get hit by a bus walking drunk back to your...

I visit this restaurant every time I’m in Rome, and it never disappoints. The service and staff are a perfect 10 out of 10—they make you feel genuinely welcome, like family. The food is exceptional, and the prices are incredibly reasonable. I usually order the Rigatoni Carbonara, one of their signature dishes, and it’s absolutely out of this world. The same goes for dessert. At the end of lunch, our server casually placed two bottles—Sambuca and Limoncello—on the table and said, "Enjoy!" We were free to drink as much as we wanted, though we only had a few small glasses. Nevertheless, it’s always a fantastic experience, and I can’t recommend this place enough!

I'm giving 5 stars for three reasons. 1. The atmosphere is old school. All wooden interior. Servers with vests. Classic Roman menu. Character. 2. It is out of the way. Although basically in the heart of Rome (if that exists), it does not feel touristy. 3. The quality of the food way outdoes the price. Most dishes are under 20 Euro. Some gems. The Veal and Cantelloni "Abruzzi" are classic dishes slightly reimagined. The Veal is stuffed with mozzarella, I highly recommend this. The Cacio y Pepe was among the best I had in Rome, and I tried at least 5. I paid 24 Euro for a filet that melted in my mouth and would have cost 44 almost anywhere else.

We ate there, on our first evening in Rome, after research work, we did before the trip, and enjoyed every moment. An authentic Italian restaurant, exactly the opposite, of a tourist restaurant. The most delicious tomato bruschetta, we have ever eaten, fine pasta, excellent wine, and very good desserts. Everything you would expect, from a good dinner in Rome. And all this - at a very reasonable price. We liked it so much, that we ate there one more time - lunch, on the day we left Rome.
