A prime issue here is the service. Our waiter was Ali and despite this being a fairly expensive restaurant Ali treated our group fairly ordinarily throughout the night and made it daily obvious that we were lucky to have him rather than the other way round. He rushed our dinner and drink orders and failed to keep our wines filled during our dinner and became unhappy when we were forced to top our own glasses. No offer was ever made to refill our table water either. This ordinary service intensified as the evening went on, particularly when young attractive women started arriving in the restaurant. A very good looking woman dining alone directly across from our table received an extraordinary amount of attention from Ali who chatted to her for extended periods when he should have been serving us and others he was responsible for.
The final unhappy event occurred when we called for the bill. Ali actually hung directly over my right shoulder as I studied the bill - like directly over me as I was seated - and I had to ask him to leave while I looked at the bill to ensure it was accurate. I know why Ali hovered like he did - he was anxious to return to chatting to the young unaccompanied woman directly beside us. I’m actually wondering now how closely Ali was over my shoulder when I punched in my PIN when I paid by card.
The food was good here but not exceptional. My scallops were OK but not great. My octopus was good but not exceptional. Serves are quite small. Our two wine choices - in a way imposed on us by Ali - were good but far from life changing. Plenty of places do food and wine as well as this and usually better, in my experience, and the majority of them have service that is far far better than we received tonight. My opinion is that they likely really only want young people here. They are not interested in an older crowd especially Ali. Needless to say, I didn’t leave a tip but the meal still cost several hundred euros. Think hard about what value and respect mean to you before you consider...
Read moreWe stayed at Sina Bernini Bristol with the family and spent a couple of evenings at Il Vizio Rooftop…once for drinks and a second time for dinner. Both experiences were above excellent. My wife stated that she had some of the best drinks during the trip from this bar. The restaurant was fabulous…with a special thanks to our waiter, Jose, who recommended some great dinner options (we went with all of them). Every plate was a delicious high quality experience. Jose’s attention to detail elevated our overall experience…making our family dinner that much greater. The rooftop views are breathtaking during the evening hours…with a perfect view of the fountain and city. I highly recommend Il Vizio Rooftop…even if you’re not staying at Sina Bernini, it is certainly worth your...
Read moreReally disappointed! We got there at 7:00pm per our reservation of several weeks. Asked for a terrace table (no one was out there). We were told a private party had reserved the entire terrace so only inside was available. Then we watched party after party being individually seating on the terrace. We inquired and were told they had made reservations months in advance so did we. When we made our reservation to stay at the hotel. We were “allowed’ to go out and take pictures. I can only assume that it was because we were American as the table next to us also American had the same experience. Seriously wished we had dined elsewhere. We paid quite a bit to be incredibly offended....
