Ristorante PORTO - Fish & Chips — Restaurant in Rome

Unfortunately, our order was given to the table that sat after us. The lady customer stared at our pasta and later (2-3 minutes) told the waiter that it wasn’t her dish. We saw her partner squeeze the lemon and try our fried squid, anchovies, etc dish. Later (4-5 minutes) they also told the waiter that that wasn’t what they ordered. The waiter took the dishes around the corner and I chased after them to make sure they didn’t give us plates tried by other customers. The waiters and a manager were discussing the matter when I caught up to him and to my surprise, the waiter proceeded to walk to my table and serve the two dishes. We told them no and said we’ll pay for the wine and leave.

I would say, two of the waiters were apologetic and offered a reorder. We didn’t want to wait another 30 minutes so we passed on the offer. When we got the check, it was shockingly for the full amount and we were told we’d have to explain it to the manager. The waiter came over to explain the situation and the manager apologized and I paid for the wine and water.

Honestly, we had two issues with our waiters. 1. Our initial waiter who was busy on his phone and placed our order against the wrong table and 2. Being served a dish that another...

Went here with family group. Restaurant is confusing as we wanted to get burgers at Quarto restaurant but saw a sign to go into PORTO restaurant. Fine. Quarto was meat based but we sat in what seemed to be a fast seafood place. I asked for menu and was offered meat menu but around me were people eating items not on menu. I asked for another menu which was given to me with a bit of irritation ... other members of my group ordered burgers which I should have done. I ordered fish and chips, and although i speak very god italian, the waiter kept rudely reacting to my speaking italian - i ignored him. As for food: The burgers looked good and I was told were tasty. Meanwhile I kept waiting for my fish and chips. After a long time I asked where it was and was rudely told "it's being prepared, you have to wait!". Fine, I waited although everyone else had finished their meals and were just waiting for me tk get my food. When mine finally came it was inedible. It was not fish and chips but a slab of fish with batter that was overcooked and falling off. I peeled oily batter off. Fish had no flavor. Chips were burnt to a crisp and inedible. I just left...

The food was good, but the service was really slow and confused. We had to ask for English menu twice (the first waiter told us he’d bring it but then he showed up 5m later with empty hands to take orders from other tables, the second waiter we asked brought it). We ordered fine eventhough we waited for a while but then the food was quick. Again, we asked for olive oil for the bread to the same, first waiter, and as before he completely forgot and when we asked the other waiter, we realized after few minutes that the oil is just not coming 😀 on top of that, they tried to give our meals to the other table who said it wasnt theirs and only then it was delivered to us. My glass was dirty, we shared one with my boyfriend (which would be fine not being for the other things). Btw, there were 3 taken tables outside where we sat, inside it was half full.
