Food AND service were awful! Do not be lured by the rooftop terrace sitting... the menu and prices shown downstairs at the entrance is completely different than on the terrace. There was only 1 competent waitress serving the whole terrace. We ordered a bottle of wine and the waiter didn't show us the bottle before opening it, then poured it straight into both our glasses without even allowing us to taste it first! We have never EVER experienced that before! And worst of all, when he poured the wine there were pieces of the cork floating in our glass, and when we told him he just took the glass away, poured the wine out and gave us an empty glass! They brought us bread without any olive oil and balsamic vinegar. We had to ask for it 3 times before they brought us bottles from their kitchen instead of serving it in proper serving bowls/plates like they usually do. We expected more from an "upscale" restaurant they marketed themselves to be and for the price we paid! The orange risotto was a huge dissapointment... it was way too sweet for a risotto and tasted like risotto soaked in orange liquer! Yucks! The creme brulee was too "egg-y" and "hard"... it tasted like something bought from your local 7-11 store... yes that was how bad it was! I even tried providing them some constructive feedback by advising them very nicely on the way the wine and bread should have been served but they did not take it well and gave some really lame excuses instead which I am not going to bother to mention. In short, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. I am sure you can find any better place to eat in Rome for a fraction of the price (like Luzzi's by...
Read moreWe came across this place tonight on a walk to another restaurant on the same block. We told the gentleman who was outside of the restaurant that we were looking for a specific restaurant, and he kindly told us the way. In the end we couldn't get a table at this other restaurant, so we came back and we are very happy we did. The room is attractive and clean, the service is excellent and genuinely friendly, and in terms of the food this was the best all around meal we have had during our stay in Rome. We had a lovely octopus salad, that also had lots of fresh vegetables in it; we ordered pork shank and were expecting something in tomato sauce, but it was more like a hash with shredded potato and oregano. I could have eaten three more servings of this. We also had a delicate and well seasoned ravioli with butter sage sauce. Often this sort of dish can be oily, but this one was light and clean without being bland, the flavors were nice. And we had an artichoke Roman style, which was delicious. Nice and affordable wine; in fact the entire meal was reasonably priced. We would definitely go back and highly recommend to anyone looking for a typical Roman menu well executed and served very professionally, while still being familiar and relaxed. Thank you for the...
Read moreJust wanted to share our exceptional experience at Ristorante Rossini My wife and I, from the moment we walk in, we were warmly welcomed, made to feel right at home. Pablo was attentive, friendly and genuinely cared about our dining experience, always nearby when we needed assists. He even protected us from the wasp that was invading our dinner. That evening he wore several hats. From our waiter, our bartender and even our wasp exterminator.
He recommended 2 outstanding meals, beautifully presented and busting with flavour. The sea bass with potatoes and truffle, the lobster fettuccine were excellent. This combined with the cozy roof top ambience…what a combination.
Let’s not forget the crème brûlée and fresh strawberry gelato after. What truly set this visit apart was the exceptional customer service for my 1st time in Rome. Very rare to find a perfect balance of professionalism and warmth. We highly recommend anyone looking for a top-tier food with exceptional customer service. Drop by and check them out. Too bad we don’t live in Rome or this would be my go to restaurant. Pablo you made what was a terrible start to our holiday due to the Air Canada strike.
