We’re a family of vegetarians and we struggled with finding good vegetarian options in Venice. We found Da Mattia near our hotel and saw that they had a lot of vegetarian options on their menu on google. It’s a small place that we might have missed otherwise. The staff were super friendly and chatted with us and even brought us extra red pepper and chili oil since we mentioned we like food spicy. We had vegetable soup, pasta arrabiatta, vegetable lasagna and cannoloni. All were delicious! I definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for good vegetarian options or a good quick meal...

The location on one of the canals is a plus for the atmosphere. Great for people watching! The spaghetti alla Bolonese was outstanding! All the food came to the table piping hot! This place was much better than the place I went to the day before. My server was incredibly friendly and helpful- especially when I was practicing my Italian! The price was to be expected for dinner (from a prix fixe menu): primi and main entree, glass of Lambrusco, and a Coke for 35 Euros. That price included a 2.5 Euro cover charge for eating outside. I would go back again just for the spaghetti...
