Upon visiting this restaurant, I was met with a team that exuded dedication and effort, which was commendable. The staff provided service that was attentive and earnest, signalling a strong commitment to guest satisfaction.
However, the restaurant's ambiance presented a challenge. The dining area felt congested, with tables positioned too closely to one another, compromising the sense of personal space. This layout, while perhaps a necessity in a bustling city like Venice, detracted from the intimate dining experience one might expect. The diverse languages spoken by the international clientele did lend a unique auditory privacy, but it was a small consolation for the lack of physical space.
Turning to the cuisine, it was evident that the chef had invested considerable thought into the menu, aiming for innovation and creativity. Yet, the dishes resembled modern art in their complexity and abstraction, which may not resonate with all palates. A simpler approach, focusing on fewer flavours and highlighting a single ingredient, might have been more to my taste. Nonetheless, those with an appreciation for culinary experimentation might find the offerings intriguing and satisfying.
In summary, while the restaurant's heart is in the right place and the staff's efforts are palpable, the overall experience fell short of expectations. The environment and the avant-garde menu might appeal to some, but I found myself yearning for a touch more tradition and comfort in both the setting...
Read moreI went there with my parents during our short stay in Venice. My mom is a huge seafood lover and a picky one.She totally satisfied with the meal!
The restaurant is quite small and popular, so I'll recommend making a reservation. It is located right next to the canal, a very cosy walk before or after the meal. And it's not far from the train station, so perfect for those who were catching a night train like us.
We would like to tried more different dishes so we decided to go with more starters. We had six oysters, the baby octopus, scallops and marinated shrimp salad and gnocchi in squid ink. I had panda cotta for dessert. We totally loved the meal, everything was tasty! All seafood was fresh and nicely prepared. I totally loved the oysters, scallops and gnocchi in squid ink. The service was good and professional, but yet friendly and warm.
The meal cost around 150€ for three of us with five starters, one pasta, one dessert, two glass of wine and a bottle of water. I think it still reasonable but definitely not a cheap eat. And note that the potion wasn't big, so if you'll like to be really full, I will recommend a three courses meal, which will be around...
