Corte Canal Venice — Hotel in Venice

The hotel is located in the very center, very close to the bus stop and all attractions. I had a single room with a double bed. The shower and toilet were shared, so were not in company. Next to the bed was a sink, which is very convenient. There is a wardrobe with hangers, a desk and several mirrors. The room is very clean, there are several warm blankets. The view from the window was on the beautiful garden and patio. There are many reports in the reviews that everywhere is dirty, there are bugs and cockroaches, but it is not so. The rooms were cleaned every day!!! I was very surprised because I did not meet this even in the most expensive hotels. Everywhere is very clean, even in the common toilet and shower. I couldn’t contact the hotel for a long time to confirm my reservation. Other than that, everything was fine. The man at the reception sat from early morning to late night. Always ready to help and answer all questions. I was disappointed with the service "ZenHotels". I could not confirm my reservation for a long time, so I contacted the support of the site. They promised to help me, but for two days they just did not answer. When I reminded myself - they sent me the number of the Venice police!!! At first, I didn’t realize it, so I spent ten minutes talking to an Italian man who thought I’d been robbed at a hotel or something. But then I Googled the number and realized it was a police precinct. The only reason I could confirm the reservation was because of my friend who lives in Venice and has reached the hotel. DO NOT!!! Stay here! I’m not a person that likes to write negative reviews and if I do it means something was seriously wrong. I don’t want to come for a hostel and ruin business but my friend and I had a truly horrible experience. We were scheduled to stay two nights but woke up the first morning with bites all over our bodies. We were nervous but wanted to make sure they were bed bugs before saying anything and after hours of google searches and messages people we determined that most likely that’s what these bites were all over our body. When we went down to the main office we tried to as calmly as possible explain the situation and and asked if it was possible to receive a refund for the second night because we were not going to be staying. The man was extremely rude to us and tried to play off the bites as mosquito bites, we know mosquito bites and these aren’t it. He would not give us a refund and we just left not wanting to deal with this situation any longer. This makes me believe the situation will not be figured out anytime soon if he did not believe us and I do not want anyone else to ever go through this. That’s the reason I wrote this review, just to help anyone else so they don’t have to deal with the nightmare we were put through of disinfecting everything and stressing about bringing anything back with us.
