There is a lasagna with pesto that is not on the menu, but it was mentioned by the waitress when I asked for something other than focaccia or quiche. It turned out to be the best pesto lasagna I have ever eaten – so flavourful and melt-in-your-mouth, rivalling the excellent lasagna with ragu from Bologna. It was so good I returned specifically (I was staying in Manarola) to eat it again, having had an utterly disappointing pesto lasagna in Manarola. While enjoying our focaccia sandwiches we were planning the next few days of our trip and realized we had an issue with the train timing to take us to our next destination. Our wonderful server took the time to help us translate and make sure we were settled on a plan.
