Eat here. I've been coming to Verona for 25 years and have watched the high quality local restaurants been slowly replaced by generic "Italian" food. Here you get the best of both - proper Veronese delicacies and great Italian dishes. It's actually home made. Not "home made" in a microwave, but by Nonna. It's all fresh, made to order, freshly each day.

Service is impeccable - perfect balance of friendly and professional. Wines, liquors, desserts are excellent examples of local cuisine. And when I say "local", I mean world beating.

I particularly recommend the tortellini di zucca, which is exceptional. The polenta with cheese and fungi is the best I've had. Creme brulé is the dessert of choice for me, and apparently the tiramisu is fantastic - made by Nonna each morning.

It's plenty spacious, with comfortable wooden tables and a great aesthetic.

It's family friendly, even with children's seats and baby changing. Treat yourself, and eat the best...

I was looking for the nearby Hostaria la Vechia Fontanina which unfortunately is closed on Sunday evenings. Same thing happened when we were in Verona in 2015 and we ate at this Osteria which was not much but in the end proved OK. As I was very tired and it was rather late I went for the same option again.

Unfortunately the quality was lower going to well towards under average. Portions were small and prices quite high for what was. I had the Bacala with polenta which was very boring, small and poorly presented.

Service was terribly slow and the lady there not very friendly.

Not recommended especially as there are way much better places to...

Arrived at opening to be told the chef wouldn't arrive until 30 minutes later which was fine, took some time to have drinks etc, service was very slow the whole time and the server wasn't very attentive even though the restaurant was quiet. The meal did come about an hour after we'd ordered (after chef arrived) and the pasta was good, but we had ordered with a ragu and sauce was pretty non-existent (other dishes looked a lot better for other tables!). We did order dessert which definitely was generic and store bought and not heated well, prices were decent but wouldn't return. Toilet was also just a glorified hole in the ground so facilities...
