Terrible service, avoid at all costs
Sadly, what you understood as my rudeness was the frustration of having waited for my food for 40 minutes. At which point they pretended to not speak English very well to not have to deal with us. People who had come in 20 minutes after us were already eating.
They then rudely suggested that this was acceptable, but what isn’t acceptable is not serving clients that come first their food first. They make you wait so they can cook things in bulk, to try and save costs because they are cheap and their owner must refuse to hire enough stuff to keep up to demand.
Another reason this place is run like a bad fast food and not a premium pasta place is the lack of real cutlery. Everything was either plastic or throw away containers which is really harmful for the environment. Not even metal cutlery! Wooden forks to eat pasta!! Hate they use plastics for cups instead of glass, when again this would probably be solved if they had the correct number of staff to run their business.
I would not recommend this place not just becuase they were rude and now trying to embarrassingly gaslight me on their reply instead of accepting they were in the wrong, their Ragu Bolognese essentially tastes like watered down meat broth. Do yourself a favour and don’t fall for the tourist trap that looks sort of cool from the outside. Worst meal we...
Read moreI had gnocchi al ragu and my friends had lasagna and gnocchi al tortufo. Lasagna was the best among them. Texture wise, gnocchi were right on spot. However, ragù was extreamly salty and so unpleasent to eat and gnocchi al tortufo was extreamly buttery, gnocchi were almost floating on the butter. Probably, the restaurant uses truffle butter rather than using truffle itself.
The staff were kind and helpful. The food was being cooked right in an open kitchen visible to the customer and everything seemed clean. However, the place was definetely overly pricey. We have paid 36 euros for just 3 meals excluding water or drinks. Not worth the money. Considering the meals we had, my point would be 2.5/5. However, we had lunch and their menu is completely different for the dinner, the place deserves another try.
I should also note that if you are a tourist getting exposed to italian food for the first time, you would love this place. As a person who has been in the country for years, the meals we had (excluding lasagna) were not the correct representation of the...
Read moreThe pasta itself is very appetizing. And it tastes great (at least the ones we tried). However: portions are small for the price OR price is too high for the portion size even by weight, as uncooked take-away to cook at home, it is too expensive (28 to 32 euro/ kg or more). dining room upstairs is cramped and HOT! It needs more air to breathe ! the service is very slow. Surprising since this fresh pasta cooks literally in minutes. We waited 40 minutes for our 4 small servings of pasta. While you wait you get nothing (no bread, no oil)… you just wait hungry. the wine served (valpolicella) is too warm. For 28 euro per bottle, would expect that the wine is treated with more respect. Also because of lack of service, after 20 minutes of waiting for the waiter to open the bottle of wine, I just got up, went to waiter’s station to get the corkscrew and opened it all by myself 😂 The restaurant needs to hire more waiters/ waitresses especially in high season, or reduce the capacity of its restaurant to be able to serve customers in a...
