🕯️Ambience/Athmosphare: quiet small side street at the edge of the old city. Small tables, a few barrels to stand next to. Very cozy and humble.

🧀 Food: they offer delicious small bits even late in the evening, which can easily substitute proper dinner. During the day the offer typical dishes.

🍷Drinks: not huge but good and well thought out selection of wine. Great selection of liquors and other alcoholic beverages.

🗣️ Staff: super friendly English-speaking bar tenders, who are happy to advise and suggest. Very accomodating and uncomplicated.

Total recommendation for late evenings, especially if you fell just a little hungry and want a quiet closing for the day.

The food, service, ambiance and vibe in Caval Matto was perfect. We came here for apertivos during our first night in Italy and were blown away by the flavor and quality of the food. Spent the entire trip thinking about this place so on our last day we decided to head back to Verona and go again. Our server instantly recognized us and took care of us like we were family. Absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, Mario our host made us feel at home even though our Italian is very lacking. The interior is small and cozy, with great music adding to the atmosphere. The menu is small but has everything you want to try and understandable when you see that they are serving family recipes for our enjoyment. The lasagna was hands down the best I have ever eaten 🫡.
