This is truly a little local gem. I think we were the only tourists in there. The menu is short and only in Italian (and watch out for dishes containing "cavallo" as many carnivores with a British sensibility are not comfortable with the idea of eating horse).
The welcome at La Molinara is wonderful with freshly sliced mortadella put on the table just to say hello. And the dishes we choose were sensational. Each was original (to us) with quality ingredients and flavours that were authentic. The pasta was just perfect and is, I believe, home made.

Read moreTrattoria La Molinara is a really outstanding traditional trattoria in Via Ottolinni Verona. It has Great food and wine at a more than fair price. There are no no frills dining rooms. There is also very friendly service. Its our go to place in Verona. You will be greeted with a lump of Mortadella on your table, have your choice of excellent regional wine or house wine and enjoy a wide selection of first and send courses, All the fresh pasta dishes are excellent. The meat dishes are as well. You cannot make a bad choice here! The Tagliata di Manzo is particularly beautiful and appetizing.
July, 2022. La Molinara is still the TOP trattoria in Verona. Outstanding food quality, presentation and service. Excellent wine list.
November 2024, even better....

Seemed to be mostly locals compared to tourists too. Would recommend a reservation if you are planning...
