Nice food, good atmosphere and quality service. The "canapé" are good but would not recommend them since there is nothing outstanding. If you're a tourist, don't ask for wine recommendation and trust them blindly, they will likely serve you a 10€ glass which was good but seemed excessive. However, they offered us the coffee at the end which is a nice gesture. To sum up, it was overall good food but a bit excessive in terms of pricing.

We found this beauty mid afternoon on a walk around the side streets. Situated between the river and amphitheatre and close to a large square. It was very busy and looked fantastic. The cabinet next to the street at the entrance housed the Cicchetti (small bites) selection. We asked if we could take some away. Not a problem and it wasn't long before we were on our way to a square to devour them. I recommend this place.

They refuse service, as the staff are full of themselves.

We visited this place on 05/02/2024. We were walking all morning, sightseeing and, as we walked past, we thought to take a break, have something to drink and move on.

We walked in, two people behind the bar, a woman and a man. We were “welcomed” with a look of “What do you want” almost, and it was so awkward. The woman just said hello (barely), and we asked if it was ok to have a drink. She asked us what we wanted, and, as we were a bit tired from walking, we didn’t want any alcohol at this point. So, I asked for a coffee, and my partner for an orange juice and some water. All the while, we’re still standing, as if to check if we qualify in order to sit down. The waitress then turned to the man next to her - she obviously felt “uncomfortable” with our order - and whispered something at his ear. He then blatantly refused to serve us, as he claimed “We’re not that kind of place, this is not our job”, and he said that there are many other places around we could go. Apparently, this place specialises in wine, and they almost felt insulted that we only wanted a coffee and an orange juice.

I have never experienced anything like this in my life. First of all, we could have stayed and ordered more, if we hadn’t been treated this way. After all, this is how it works, no? Second, your name is “Caffè Monte Baldo”, and there was a perfectly fine coffee machine behind the bar.

You need to sort...

If you're thirsty, I'd give this a miss. After walking around for a while, we looked for somewhere to stop as we were thirsty. We walked in, greeted the young lady behind the bar and proceeded to order. My partner asked if they served coffee, yes was the reply and so she proceeded to ask for one. I asked for water and, just because I fancied it if they had it, an orange juice. The man who was also stood around the corner of the bar muttered something to the young lady and then, addressing us, told us abruptly that they are not a coffee shop and they specialise in wine. Also, that this isn't their job and if we want coffee we can have it, but this is a wine bar, they don't do things like orange juice and to go somewhere else which will do it. Now, I don't mind at all being told they don't have what I've asked for, but is there any need to be so rude? I may have ordered something else. It felt as though he had been offended. It's a shame because it's the first sour encounter we've had in this lovely city. Anyway, we did go somewhere else, happily giving our money to...

Noi torneremo ancora...
