Ok so I was able to reassess the venue after a failed attempt (due to space) the day after. The atmosphere is warm and lovely, good wood panelling for an izakaya with a clean kitchen. You can see everything that happens during cooking whilst sitting at the bar, so I would recommend that seat. The staff have an English menu and some options that are not on it. The main limitation is them having one to assist with your order. I was lucky and was helped along, and ordered some things that were not on the English menu, such as extra fish choices and horse sashimi.
