The line was a little long but wasn't too bad since I went there a little late (around 3pm) on a Saturday. The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor of the Hakata station in a section with many ramen shops. Shin shin is the most popular restaurant there though but I'm sure the other restaurants are also good.
The woman working the line was excellent and friendly. I am a single diner so i was seated at the bar with a plastic partition between me and the people next to me.
I ordered a ramen w/ egg + half order of chahan (fried rice) + gyoza. Everything was excellent.
I would say that the ramen with 4/5. The broth was good but I think I like the broth at ichiran more. But what was really excellent with the chashu. It was so tender and awesome! Next time I'll order the ramen with extra chashu. I usually don't even eat the chashu since I'm not a huge fan of the pork but the one here was absolutely divine! Of course the egg was cooked perfectly as it is in all Japanses ramen shops. I like my noodles extra firm and they did that...I love the thin noodles!
The chahan was good but I don't think I'll order it next time. Same with gyoza. Good but not enough to stand out.
Service is good and they are friendly to foreigners. ...
Read moreIt was okay and not much more to be honest.
The line was long with very little queue management. The food was alright, gyozas were cold but tasty (though Iâve had tastier from stalls at matsuris), and noodle soup was good but nothing special. Noodles were very thin, which I like, and the pork was delicious and eggs well cooked.
The staff were rude, even by my standards as a foreigner. The chilli sauce was taken and given to another table without asking so I didnât get any. The food was placed the other side of the table to me. When I tried to order ginger ale (which is on the English and Japanese menu) she just went âăȘăâ which I found very rude. I work in a restaurant in Japan and would never dream of giving the service I received.
Overall, very disappointed. 3 stars may be a little high honestly, but unfortunately I canât give 2.5 - an okay rating for an okay restaurant. Definitely not...
Read moreI am a chef myself and being travelling around the world so definitely can tell when a product or meal is good! I did try a few chain places as well as some local ramen shops on my journey around Japan in the last month! This place is rocking! The best one so far! For me the most important ingredient in a ramen is the broth! Service was very good too! All the girls and boys managed to get my English orders! Here is rich (proper rich) unlike ichiran where rich is just oily! I am not fussy about the noodles so canât judge there but this ones were very nice! Chashu very tasty too! And for the price is amazing! Yes it is at the station but donât let that to put you off this place is a gem! Also try the spicy one is amazing and the noodles are different!đIf I can give recommendations to the chef would be to use trotters a lot of them that will make the broth even on another level! Aregato...
