I visited “Koh-chan Ramen” around 11am, and the place was already buzzing with customers—clearly a popular spot!
This shop is produced by Hakata Ikkousha, a renowned tonkotsu ramen specialty restaurant dedicated to delivering authentic Hakata-style flavor.
I ordered their standard Koh-chan Ramen. The broth was rich and flavorful with a noticeable sweetness that really stood out. Despite its depth, it was surprisingly easy to drink and paired perfectly with the thin noodles.
On the table, there were various condiments like spicy takana (pickled mustard greens), red pickled ginger, and spicy miso. The spicy takana, in particular, is a must-have with Hakata ramen—it adds a great flavor twist. I highly recommend trying it with extra takana and doing a “kaedama” (noodle refill) while experimenting with different toppings.
If you’re a fan of Hakata-style tonkotsu ramen, this place is definitely worth a visit....
