From the moment you arrive, you're greeted by the inviting sight of their open kitchen, where you can see the care and attention that goes into each dish.

I recently devoured their namesake Roast Beef Rice Bowl, and it was an absolute winner. The roast beef itself was incredibly tender and packed with flavour – a true testament to quality ingredients and expert preparation. The portion was also very generous, making it the perfect fuel for more Kyoto adventures. The rich flavour of the entire bowl was simply outstanding. Adding to the fantastic food was the wonderful ambience. The smooth sounds of jazz playing softly in the background created a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, a welcome respite from the busy streets below.

The service was also exceptional; the staff were so friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home with their genuinely cordial attitude.

And a word to the wise, fellow travellers: the beef tail soup that comes with the bowl is an absolute must-try! The flavour is deep and satisfying – it's the perfect warm and comforting accompaniment.

We stumbled upon this restaurant while walking around, and it turned out to be a great surprise. It's located on the second floor with easy access by stairs or elevator, and the restaurant itself is also accessible.

We arrived without a reservation, but the staff was incredibly kind and quickly arranged a table for us within a few minutes. Their specialties are two main dishes — we chose the Australian beef, which was lighter and absolutely delicious. The portion was generous, the soy-based sauce was flavorful, and the meat paired perfectly with butter and horseradish.

They also offer a delicious tea that you can help yourself to, which added a nice touch. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming — they asked where we were from, how we were doing, and truly made us feel at home. To top it off, they even gave our daughter a beautiful origami gift.
